I’ll start by saying I’m pretty sad I don’t wake up at Boschendal every morning. We stayed as a family with 2 children for 2 nights, not long enough at all. We were warmly greeted at the reception and I instantly felt at home. We stayed at the orchard cottages which is about 2k from the main area. Reception will do pick ups and drop offs although we got bikes for a day and cycled- it’s it a hill so beware. The 2 bed was spacious, beautifully presented, log burner, kitchen, 2 baths, fire outside. They will deliver breakfast or meals or a Braai selection for you to cook yourself. The Friday night market was wonderful but super busy so get there early, pizzas, bbq, bao buns, live band, bouncy castle. Breakfast is served in the Werf restaurant and was stunning. Views, food, choice, 10/10 We didn’t have a chance to use the kids club but looked around and it was set up like a house with different areas for baking, crafts, cinema room etc. A brilliant adventure tree house outside too. We had a little look at the camp canoe luxury tents too which were also amazing and have their own team, wood fired hot tubs, hammocks and the best views on the property. Overall we absolutely loved our stay, the only problem was that we weren’t there long enough. I have a room tour on my Instagram @travel__like_a_king so feel free to take a look!

A trip to Boschendal is always a magical one. This is one place that does not just offer an exceptional wine tasting experience (and an assortment of perfectly distilled wines and spirits). It also allows one the opportunity of dining at an amazing restaurant, shopping for exceptional meals and produce, walking/hiking through perfect gardens and vineyards, and enjoying outdoor activities like horse riding and cycling. The Estate also has an art gallery, museum, and shops that transport one to the an otherworldly place. Private events and gatherings can also be arranged for at the Estate as well as cottages where one can stay and enjoy what the estate has to offer. This is not just a wine estate - it is a lifestyle and one in a million experience bar none.

Wow! A fully working farm of 5000 acres that just happens to have multiple restaurants, the most wonderful shopping and market, picnic area where kids were playing with handmade lawn games from trees on the property - just get out! They use every piece of their resources. The only part of our picnic that wasn't from the property was the cheese. Our guide Blanche was so sweet and just shed her love of her job and this property through her entire being. They have a variety of cottages all over the vast land of varying sizes. You can hike, horseback ride, ride bikes, eat, play, drink great wine, tour the grounds, shops, museum - a few hours was not enough! **RETURNED 2024 with two groups from the US! We had an excellent stay on all counts! Only one suggestion - when weather cancels the picnic, please bring the box inside :)

The grounds are very beautiful, but the overall experience was left to be desired. After spending much budget on the nicest cottage, a storm put out power, amazing that there was no generator, so they moved us to a smaller cottage more than half the price of our original rate, then move this to another cottage for The third night. Management said they would take care of the overall cost but only provided some refund back and not what should be the comparable refund. I’ve been communicating with them for months and ultimate resolution has not been done. Very disappointed in management’s lack of response after a really bad experience of having to move to a different location for all of our three nights stay. Not to mention our having to push an a utility truck out of the mud in front of cottage in the middle of a downpour, didn’t see that in the list of activities. Obviously not ideal experience

Stayed at Clarence cottage. What a fantastic experience, lovely accommodation, welcoming staff. The food in the wherf restaurant was great. Our waiter Daren made it a fantastic evening. These guys work so hard. Great spot to visit other local vineyards too.
