In 2013, media mogul Ted Turner purchased Sierra Grande Lodge & Spa near Turtleback Mountain in New Mexico. Why? The area’s geothermal Hot Springs, frequented by Native Americans like Geronimo, have been the cornerstone of this Old West retreat for nearly 90 years. The lodge’s rooms & suites feature rustic wood furnishings and Native American décor, and the spacious two-bedroom Casita provides comfort, privacy and panoramic views of the mountainous landscape. Chef Miyazaki focuses on the American Southwest, with menu items such as Black Truffle Steak and Maple Leaf Cherry Port Duck. The Spa at Sierra Grande utilizes the natural geothermal spring underneath the lodge to create private pools and soothing baths in the mineral-rich water.

The place is amazing and relaxing. The rooms were fantastic. The mineral baths are a great experience and you get a complementary 30 minute soak with the booking. I had the best deep tissue massage by Pam which I would highly recommend booking- she is the best

Excellent staff well informed. Soaks are great. Hotel very nice. My problem my wife needed elevator. Only two floors but going upstairs can be difficult for some people. Also NO restaurant or bar. Yes I could have went out and purchased alcohol. But I prefer a bar area. Continental Breakfast is ok. I prefer on site restaurant. Staff very helpful recommending places to eat. If you go restaurants CLOSE early.

Extremely disappointing. Rooms are not large enough to lay out our 2 suitcases. We had to rearrange furniture just to fit. We were not given the room we were promised but a substantially less desirable one and we are told there are no larger rooms - so we are stuck. Although we are a large group there was only one person checking us in so we missed our time slot for our hot spring. We called several times during the day and left messages - calls were never returned. We’ll see what tomorrow holds but we are off to a terrible start.

This is a nice hotel in Truth or Consequences. Each night you stay comes with breakfast and a soak in one of their hot springs. We did the soak - it was very relaxing after a drive in the car from Albuquerque. Staff were super friendly and had good recommendations for dinner. The room was small but perfect for two people. Would absolutely recommend.

I came for peace and relaxation and was not disappointed. The accommodations are luxurious and quiet, and my massage by Tina was one of the best I have had. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed, but I will come back and hopefully it will be open.
