Overall just an okay or fine stay, there’s better hotels

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

My husband I came for a local getaway for our anniversary. The room was pretty, fireplace great (although would love an option to control the flame), and the grounds themselves are lovely. However, the jacuzzi tub in the room had filthy jets and was unusable other than as a bath tub. The fancy toilet features like the bidet didn’t work, and the toilet lid wouldn’t stay closed and kept randomly spraying when you’d enter the area to shower. Overall I’d call the room fine. The restaurant experience was also simply fine. We started off with a great server who was super nice. At some point, they cut her and sent her home but no one told us. We randomly ended up with someone else who never checked on us. We asked for dessert to be delivered to our room and she didn’t even ask for our room number, walked off, then tried to bring it to the table. We had to flag her down to be able to get the check after we waited almost 20 minutes just sitting there with empty plates and drinks. Would’ve expected better overall for a 4 star hotel, as I’ve stayed in many. Wouldn’t come back unless the rooms were cheaper.

Nice hotel, horrible restaurant

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Nice hotel rooms and amenities, and front desk staff is great. Barking Frog restaurant was very bad, slow service and very very slow kitchen. Food was cold when they brought it out, 30-40 minutes after ordering. It wasn’t even that good. Better to go get breakfast in town.

Winter Treat!

Affordable indulgence... made last minute reservation and what a surprise!! One of the best treats to myself in a long time. From the lotions to the linens - all exceptional. Cup of Nespresso with a book curled up by the fireplace in a spa robe after a soke in the tub --- ahhh, my new happy place!

Great Getaway

The Willows was a perfect long weekend getaway. From the minute we pulled up to the door, the staff seemed happy and appreciate that we were there. They all went out of their way to help. The room had a fireplace that was guaranteed to take the chill off in the morning and to be a place to sit and enjoy wine in the evening. The room we had was very spacious, well decorated and comfortable. The location is perfect for visiting tasting rooms and walking distance to many. Restaurants close by are great and walking distance or a short Uber ride away.

Beautiful Lodge within walking distance of many of the wineries

What a beautiful hotel this was right in the center of things. The grounds were meticulously maintained and the attention to detail in the rooms was very noticeable. We walked most places and the staff was super helpful with recommendations and tending to our needs. We loved our stay.

We stayed at Willows Lodge and it was one of the best vacations we've ever had. From the moment we checked in, we experienced five-star customer service and it exceeded every expectation we could have imagined.

We recently returned from our vacation at Willows Lodge. It was truly a remarkable stay - from the accommodations, to the sightseeing trip, and the dining experience. This was our 4th trip Luxury Link. Every time we leave, we say we will never stay in a place that great again - until the next time we stay at a Luxury Link property. Thank you for the opportunity to experience places we would normally not venture to.

My wife and I just returned two days ago from a four night stay at the Willows Lodge. I have to agree with the previous two reviewers on every count. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were treated like royalty. I frequently get the impression that even top scale resorts are trying to pinch pennies by nickel and diming their customers, but that is absolutely not the case at Willows Lodge. We used our wine tasting voucher on the first night and instead of getting tastes of two wines as indicated on the voucher, each of us was treated to the two wines and a glass of champagne, and then given the remaining third of a bottle to take back to our room to finish at our leisure. One evening, we returned to the hotel and the clerk at the front desk offered each of us a complimentary glass of wine. How's that for making a customer feel special!

At the on-site Barking Frog restaurant, we found breakfasts were delicious and prepared using only the best and freshest ingredients. The Saturday and Sunday brunch menu allowed us to choose between breakfast and lunch items. The coupe de grace was the lunch basket we opted to take with us for our long drive home. We placed our order the previous night and a backpack was handed to us when we checked out. The backpack contained everything from our lunch (sandwiches, fruit, crackers, three different types of cheeses, fresh baked cookies and bottled water) to a cutting board, cutlery, and a corkscrew. We tried to explain that we were going home and wouldn't be able to return the kit, but the clerk explained that the kit was part of the deal. What a great send off.

Our stay at the Willows Lodge was our fourth Luxury Link experience. Although our three other stays were wonderful, this one was absolutely perfect in every respect.
