Beach Notes

While Grand Cayman is only 22 miles wide some guests prefer to be closer to Georgetown and Seven Mile Beach for day trips. Point of View is only 10 minutes from George Town, the Airport, and the beaches on the west end.

The villa enjoys a sandy beach, however, guests need to be mindful that this is a marine area with a coral reef. Wading in the water will require hard-soled pool shoes or fins.

This is not the perfect barefoot beach for swimming. It is a marine environment and is protected. One can walk west for the least interaction with others in this residential neighborhood.

Driving west of the house will take you towards George Town and there is a very nice spot called Smith Cove "Barcadere" with barefoot swimming and snorkeling. Dart Beach is also there as well and open to the public. For more barefoot swimming on Seven Mile Beach, you can swim at Governor's Beach, Tiki Beach near the Kimpton, and Cemetery Reef. Point of View has its own dock and our guests enjoy excellent snorkeling and kayaking out to the reef.

General Grand Cayman Beach Notes

All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically public since the Crown owns up to the high watermark.

The shoreline quality behind your property may vary slightly from the images on our website due to shifting tides and weather patterns. The next-door beach is also always available for your use.

Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed

Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally.

Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency over the years during the summer. The owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked before your arrival. We try our best to work around Mother Nature.

A 10-minute drive lands you in Seven Mile Beach, a pristine shoreline best enjoyed in a private cabana with beachside service (don’t worry – we will book it for you). Or pack a cooler and head for the public beach for a more low-key day on the coral sands.

On the way home, duck into one of several world-class restaurants. If nothing suits your palate in Seven Mile Beach, taste your way through Georgetown, a 10-minute drive away, with a 3-hour walking tour along its waterfront eateries.
