Cameron House on Loch Lomond

My first visit to Cameron House and enjoyed a special evening, late Birthday celebrations. Dining in the Grill Restaurant which offered a delicious menu choice. Every dish was cooked perfectly, the sweet dish was particularly good and service was first class. Thanks to Caitlin for taking care of us. We enjoyed coffee and drinks in the Great Scot bar which again was a lovely setting to relax and finish off our evening. Cole makes a mean French martini 🍸. We were made so welcome even though we weren’t staying over staff at every point we’re happy to help and despite being January offered a cheery smile! Just what a cold January needs.

There were 10 of us spending Christmas in the hotel for the Christmas period. We had an enjoyable stay all together and the hotel was clean and the staff were really nice however the organisation and the food was disastrous. I have never left a review like this before but the everyday we were waiting hours for our pre-ordered food. When it arrived it was inedible. We are not people to complain but something had gone terribly wrong over this period. I think most of the guests had the same experience unfortunately. The hotel was kind enough to comp the drinks on Christmas Day and to credit another bad meal. We went to the Boxing Day Ceilidh at 6 pm, again other slow service but left by 10pm with the children as the music had not started. The Leisure facility, and the water sports, and the boat trip, and clay pigeon shooting were great fun. The afternoon tea was good and so was the food in the Tavern, I just hope they manage to sort out the issues they had with included package food as this was the worst we have ever been served.

Great decision to start our Scotland visit by staying at Cameron House in Loch Lomond. The 18 hole & 9 hole courses were closed owing to the cold but we expected it. The property is par excellence, staff fantastic, multiple dining options and excellent facilities both indoor and outdoor. The indoor pool and jacuzzi was a treat when the temp dropped to -5. We went for a cruise on Loch Lomond - Connor was a great skipper & Colette was very knowledgeable about the history and sites around the Loch. If in Scotland, don’t miss out on this gem,

Lovely Hotel, beautiful room, great leisure facilities. Service was terrible. The staff are very friendly and hard working but there just wasn’t enough staff. Waited 45 minutes for one pint in the Tavern. The staff were rushed off their feet. Waited a long time for a table at breakfast and again 30 Minute wait for a coffee. It was so busy. The breakfast was so average for a 5 star hotel it should be better only a buffet breakfast available. No poached eggs, omelette, pancakes. Had a better breakfast at the premier Inn. It shouldn’t really be a 5 star hotel. I felt really bad for the staff they were clearly under staffed.

Awful…. We have been coming to Cameron house for 30 years. We have a lodge for 2 weeks over the festive period. We had lunch a few days ago for 12 of us. The service was actually hard to believe beyond awful. We waited 40 min for a bottle of wine and when it came eventually there Was no bottle just 2 glasses. We spent slot of money on good and drink and can honestly say the service and food is better in the local Wetherspoons . So depressing as it’s such a beautiful place but wow staffing has got to change !!!!
