Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens

We stayed at the Four Seasons for Christmas Let’s begin with the staff. This was by far the most personable staff of any hotel we have stayed. Every greeting was a nice conversation or discussion and very personalized. There was a small issue with maintenance of our room. The staff went out of their way to not only remedy the issue but also to make things incredibly comfortable for us. The Christmas brunch was amazing as was the breakfast. Little things like you glass never being empty, knowing your name as you pass by and remembering your previous order was truly a 5star experience. A great experience for us and a memorable Christmas!

I regret to say that this was a thoroughly disappointing experience, especially coming from a hotel under the Four Seasons brand, which is known for its high standards. Unfortunately, this property is not suitable for non-smokers, as it prioritizes smokers at the expense of other guests' comfort and wellbeing. The issue lies in the hotel’s policy (or lack thereof) regarding smoking on room balconies. Smokers are freely allowed to smoke on their balconies, which completely ruins the fresh air experience for neighboring rooms. Worse yet, the smell of smoke inevitably drifts into your room, leaving it smelling unpleasant and stale. For non-smokers who value clean air, this is unacceptable and undermines the entire stay. It’s baffling that a prestigious resort like Four Seasons doesn’t enforce better standards for their guests’ experience. A simple solution—separating smoking rooms and balconies from non-smoking ones—would resolve this issue entirely. Yet, it seems this has been overlooked, allowing non-smokers’ rights to fresh air to be disregarded. This is not what I expect from a luxury hotel, and it’s a complete regret to have stayed here. I would strongly discourage non-smokers from visiting this property, as your comfort and basic expectation of fresh air will not be met. A disappointing failure from a brand that usually sets the benchmark for hospitality.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I just LOVED this place. It’s become one of my favorite FS properties! From the etiquette of the staff, beautiful surrounding landscape, and luxurious setup of the room, I was just enamored the whole way through. It was also my birthday week and the delicious cakes and service we got was fantastic. I just smile and my heart warms when I think of this place. We stayed in the Nafsika building overlooking the water and it was worth it. I also recommend the in room dining. The food is 10/10! Just would love to come back here again and again!

Stayed for three nights and we were most impressed with this hotel. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Our room was ready on arrival even though it was 2 hours before official check in. We used the bar several afternoon and really enjoyed interaction with staff . There was a large wedding on our last evening which didn’t impact our stay at all which is very unusual in our experience. We will be back in the warmer weather to enjoy the pools and sea.

The hardware of the hotel is excellent. It is stunning, great views, comfortable amenities. What really let the experience down a bit was how inconsistent the service is. Some staff were proactive and just downright impressive. Others were not engaging, slow and unbothered. The breakfast service was not up to the standards one would expect from an ultra luxurious property. While the offerings were okay - if a slight disappointment - the execution of the service was lackluster at best. Overall a decent stay, but not up to the standards of the leading Four Seasons properties in Europe.
