About the Hotel
Hotel Magdalena is a hotel project from Austin’s acclaimed Bunkhouse in collaboration with renowned architecture firm Lake | Flato, located on Music Lane in the popular South Congress neighborhood of Austin. At 89 rooms, it is Bunkhouse’s largest hotel to date, and features four new, but distinct, buildings connected by exposed elevated walkways and courtyards, creating a treehouse feel inside the grounds. The property sits at varying elevations, an homage to the slopes of Barton Springs, and the lush grounds are planted with native Texas species including Bigtooth Maples, Redbuds, Meyer Lemon Trees, Yaupon Holly, and Little Gem Magnolia.

Fantastic stay!
My stay was absolutely wonderful! The service provided by the staff was attentive and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The beds were comfortable, and the studio room was a delight to be in with a good amount of space! I'm truly impressed and remain a big fan of the Bunkhouse Group for their consistent excellence and unique charm. I can’t wait to return for another memorable stay!

Chic Midcentury Modern Boutique Hotel in the Heart of South Congress
Boutique hotel with modern/trendy midcentury vibes in a fantastic location on South Congress. Felt more like staying in a cool apartment rather than in a hotel, which felt more interesting to us. You're steps away from incredible restaurants and boutiques, and most of the city is walkable from their location. You're in the middle of it all but with a bit of breathing space. Staff were exceptionally helpful with a personal issue, and made me feel well taken care of. The bed was divine, and the space in the studio room was great for 2 people. Restaurant downstairs was super cute with an adorable and attentive waitress and a very nice breakfast. My only complaints are that the water pressure was not fantastic, and that if you're on the 1st floor near the back side of the shops that there is a lot of noise in the early morning around 6am. Additionally, there is a $28 + tax fee for 'amenities' (wifi, pool access, tv, drip coffee in the lounge...) which 3rd party sites like Agoda do not mention, however they do in the fees on their own website. Just something to keep in mind if you think you're getting a good rate off another site. But overall a nice stay in a lovely city if you're traveling by yourself or as a couple.

We were greeted immediately and had a smooth check in, best experience ever!! Everyone and everything was so nice, beautiful property. Our food was amazing and the service was lovely! Our room was so cute! Will definitely be booking again!

Not worth the stay.
The property was a disappointment. The location is great but the property is dirty, the tv in the room was broken, the gates were broken, the elevators were ALL broken as some point. The property is not ADA friendly. The pool was filthy, it was cold so it’s not a big deal since it isn’t heated anyways but still kind of gross

Austin's Best
Had a wonderful time here. Room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The pool was heated and perfect for doing laps. Staff was friendly and accomodating.The food at The Summer House was exceptional,especially the French toast. Highly recommend.
