About the Hotel
Hotel Magdalena is a hotel project from Austin’s acclaimed Bunkhouse in collaboration with renowned architecture firm Lake | Flato, located on Music Lane in the popular South Congress neighborhood of Austin. At 89 rooms, it is Bunkhouse’s largest hotel to date, and features four new, but distinct, buildings connected by exposed elevated walkways and courtyards, creating a treehouse feel inside the grounds. The property sits at varying elevations, an homage to the slopes of Barton Springs, and the lush grounds are planted with native Texas species including Bigtooth Maples, Redbuds, Meyer Lemon Trees, Yaupon Holly, and Little Gem Magnolia.

Not good… really sad for such a pretty place
Boooooo… we should normalize this. Booing for places that take your money based on their name and place of business:/ They deserve it! No AC, wet carpet from leaking shower pans 🤢, no lights, broken TV AND you charge 479… which is really 650 per night with taxes? NO THANKS and BOOOOOOO

Magdalena is a vibe.
Great stay. Excellent grounds, location and service. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Staff was helpful throughout. The restaurant serves good food and has a nice wine list. Equipment Room is great to visit as well. Will return for sure.

The location was perfect, nestled just off South Congress. Easy access to city and Ziker Metropolitan Park. The staff were amazing and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Loved the restaurant, fresh food nice vibe. Totally recommend.

Wonderful hotel in a great location. Green, peaceful grounds and a very comfortable bed. Surrounded by a fun, walkable neighborhood. I would definitely stay there again if I had the opportunity to do so. Nice outdoor seating areas throughout the grounds.

Great rooms, pool, eats, landscape, and amazing STAFF!
Love this hotel! Second time staying here and will return again, and again. The entire staff is authentically friendly (special shoutout to Chase at the front desk!!), the rooms are minimalist with super cool tile accents and lighting (which could be brighter). Other great features include: personal balcony (!), invigoratingly chilly pool, great restaurant with lots of outdoor seating areas, and easy walk to shops and restaurants. The landscaping with the water feature adds a lovely water sound. Only thing I wish they included is a robe and a little more lighting, but would recommend Hotel Magdalena to anyone visiting Austin!
