Thompson Austin

While the rooms at the Thompson are comfortable and the staff as accommodating as possible, the noise levels coming from bars on 6th Street is terrible and made for sleepless nights. I moved to the 5th Street side, but the noise was even worse, since music plays during the day from the pool and you have the added noise of bars at night. I was also able to hear the people staying in the room next to (or above?) me all night coming through the AC vent. If you're looking for a quiet stay, go elsewhere.

Nice hotel. Good location. Very nice bars in the lobby and on the roof top. However, I was very disappointed in the condition of my room. The floors were dirty, bathroom not clean, and I found socks and underwear under the chairs. I would assume that if you cleaned the floors and/or vacuum the rug, then you would have seen the clothing left by the previous guest.

Extraordinary. Extraordinary. EXTRAORDINARY! Do you hear me? If you want the ultimate Austin experience do not waste your time trying out several hotels - The Thompson is it. From food, cocktails, incredible views to superstar customer service (hope you engage Marquez) this place has it all. An electric 4th floor bar area, cozy pool deck, downstairs diner, upscale bites and drinks downstairs as well. A wonderful morning coffee spot (so artistic) and of course the stunning room. Sleep deep or get dressed in beautiful surroundings to hit the town. Immediate walking distance to any kind of bar or restaurant you desire. At the end of your vacation or business trip - This place will have you heading to the airport with a smile on you face and flashing back over the next few weeks about how ultramagical the experience was to everyone in your ground or family. Go!

The hotel from check in to food to bed was perfect so I was not expecting anything to enhance our experience any further - Until "Rex Kirk" saved the day. We had checked out, and were trying to locate our Uber for the ride to the airport. (Uber had given us 3 x streets as streets are being repaired and coned off) Uber was there "someplace" traffic was dangerous and ignoring signs/lights making dodging cars with suitcases and bad legs and back a pain in the ass, especially not knowing which one way street to head to. Then materialized Rex, he ascertained the issue from my Uber app, then ran/dodged/parkoured his way through fast moving aggressive traffic to grab our Uber (two streets and 500+ feet away) and get him into a protected spot we could get to. Kirks Customer Service was absolutely amazing, and far more than could be expected at any five star. I tend to fall a lot when moving fast especially when loaded down and he saved me that embarrassment not to mention probably getting ran over. But more importantly he made sure my wife made it safely to the car as well. We got loaded up quickly but before I could slip Rex a tip he had danced his way back across the two streets and was busy helping the next customer in need. Sales/Customer service has been my life for 40 years, and if I wasn't retired I would have had a head hunter contact him the day I got back. Rex if you see this - Thank you again for your superior and most excellent customer service, you were an absolute bright spot in our trip.

Best hotel in Town!!! Loved the location, it was very close to everything. Night life and tourist spots are conveniently located in close proximity. In Hotel, I liked all the interiors, The Gym was amazing, 4th floor Restaurant is just amazing, specially in the afternoon in Patio, seating there with all greens, it was absolutely amazing.
