Set in an old mansion at the foot of the Palais des Papes in the heart of Avignon, La Mirande is steeped in secular history. This timeless refuge offers a dreamy, relaxing and authentic experience in a refines, 18th century-esque décor. With both a gastronomic restaurant and a chef ’s table, the hotel serves honest, living cuisine with respect for ingredients and humankind; a culinary hymn to land and its biodiversity. The hotel is named after the famous room in the Palais des Papes, La Mirande, where the Pope’s representatives held receptions for the city’s notables and visiting high-ranking officials. Behind its stunning facade, La Mirande exudes the sweet way of life of yesteryear. The twenty-six upper-floor rooms boast a unique décor, each with its own 18th century wall hanging plus all modern comforts are seamlessly integrated into the interior design as evinced by the "mirror" televisions.

Amazing experience and amazing staff. We were there for the Christmas market and it was such a lovely atmosphere. Looking forward to come back soon! Special mention to Lucas, the manager, who made sure all time long that we were enjoying the experience.

We loved the historic ambiance of this hotel. The staff is welcoming and professional. Nicely appointed room with a view of the Popes Palace. The Michelin star restaurant needs some attention however. It was glaringly obvious the restaurant lack sufficient staff to meet the needs of the clientele throughout the dinner. Water and wine glasses stayed empty and we felt ignored by most of the staff. Six courses timed well but: fish side sauce too salty; side sauce to the scallop dish was odd-tasting; no palate cleanse dish between meat and dessert; two ice cream desserts at the same time lacked imagination; the Mt Blanc lacked structure; and why were we served dried out chestnuts at the end? I conclude that the restaurant runs on complacency...do better!

Beautiful La Mirande hotel in Avignon I stayed in La Miranda during early November for 8 nights. This is the third times staying in this same hotel, every time I came Avignon I stayed in La Mirande. I think it is the best hotel in Avignon. Located in center of Avignon. The reception team is helpful, friendly and considerate, always made me feel like home. The staffs Melina & Anthony both have a high standard for serving hotel guest in all aspect. The house keeping team is excellent, morning and evening times when I came back to hotel, always tidy and towels changed, bottle water prepared. The house keeping ladies are very polite too. The room is excellent well decorated, comfortable and very quiet in evening times. I tried their La Restaurant inside the hotel, that's amazing French Gastronomy dinning experience by renowned chef Florent. Breakfast's place is beautiful, outside is garden. Their lobby is my favour spot in the hotel, charming and cozy for reading or relaxing, Tea cake choices during tea time is excellent too, a lot tea choices. The hotel itself is not a fancy luxury hotel, it is prestige, sophisticated, and luxury in a subtle way.

Beautiful hotel. Our room was very nice and breakfast was delicious. The only negative comment I have was that we were hoping to dine at the hotel, but they were fully booked. We never received an e-mail when we made the our hotel booking so I did not know that hotel guests had to book in advance.

My wife and I stayed at La Mirande for two nights as a part of our minimoon following our wedding a few days earlier in Provence. Staying at La Mirande was liking taking a step back into time. The hotel is seeped in history and it shows. Our room, number 20, was gorgeous, with brightly colored fabric wallpaper and views that looked out over the garden onto the walls of the Pope's Palace. The restaurant was also exquisite. We opted for the 6-course with wine pairing, and it was easily the most memorable restaurant of the year for us both.
