About the Hotel
Surrounded by nothing but turquoise lagoon which melts into sapphire blue, the Maldives luxury resort island of Anantara Kihavah and its pure white sands rise up out of the ocean like a mirage. For centuries, this was where Arab traders sailing to the Far East took shelter; a lush paradise blessed by coconut, papaya and mango trees. Navigating archipelago to archipelago by the stars, the seafarers were also drawn by the riches of the ocean surrounding the island – where a prehistoric volcano sank back into the depths, leaving blooming corals within a house reef and a wealth of lagoon fish. Wishing to keep the pristine nature of the island intact, not one tree has been moved – as evidenced by the villas growing up around them. The design pays homage to the seafarers of old, fusing Indian Ocean, Arab and Portuguese motifs with indigenous materials. Beautiful Anantara resort 🩵
I loved the beautiful villa, the overwater pool, and the turquoise Indian ocean! Vibe of the whole island was amazing. Especially the Sea restaurant - watching all kinds of fish swim by with classical piano music on the background presented us a truly unique experience. We were also surprised with the vibrant marine life and the clarity of the water we saw while snorkeling and scuba diving. Our villa host Ifoo, Mr. Ifram, was the best. His smile made our holiday shine bright. He arranged everything very smoothly for us and recommended many experiences that we wouldn't have wanted to miss. We loved talking with him. Additional thanks to friendly Baba, Sheilla who gave me a cute English name (Cherry), and also Mr. Rabin who taught us about dolphins and took amazing videos for us. It's our second time staying in Anantara (first in Mai Khao), and we had beyond-perfect holiday with both. Time flew so fast. We already miss the Maldives and want to go back! 🏝️

Best place to hide and rejuvenate
I loved our stay, mainly due to care shown by our villa host Zidhan and the wonderful team at Anantara Kihavah. The stay felt like coming back home for holidays, casual , relaxed and friendly. Thanks to whole breakfast team, Tim, Luisa, Muaa, among many others whose names I have not mentioned. We were lucky to stay during orthodox Xmas celebrations . Will definitely be coming back.
