We recently stayed at this stunning hotel in Bacalar and had an overall wonderful experience. The property itself is gorgeous, and our Jungle Room was truly a highlight – tastefully decorated, spacious, and perfectly in tune with the surrounding nature. The food was consistently outstanding throughout our stay. We especially loved the organic chicken, and we were thrilled to learn that the Siete Restaurant received a Michelin recommendation in 2024 – well deserved! The staff was friendly and always made an effort to accommodate our requests. When there was a small mishap with our order, they made up for it with a thoughtful gesture, which we truly appreciated. Another great touch was the ability to request anything via WhatsApp – the responses were always prompt and efficient, making the experience very convenient. While we would love to give a 5-star rating, there are a few things that could make the experience even better: • Turndown service: This would add a touch of luxury that’s expected in similar high-end resorts. • Attention to detail during service: Every morning, we struggled with wasps at our table, and the staff didn’t seem to notice or address it proactively. Additionally, when we asked for fresh marmalade because the wasps took over the first one, the request seemed to cause some confusion. • Variety in the menu: For guests staying more than 3-4 days, it can feel a bit repetitive. A broader selection would be appreciated. • Allergy awareness: The staff only asked about allergies on our last day, but this should be done from the beginning to avoid any issues. Additional Notes • The Rooms are understandably a bit noisy since they’re tents, which we’re familiar with from other resorts. However, our specific room (No. 26) was located next to the staff break area, which made it hard to sleep past 8 AM due to the noise. This was unfortunate, especially during a relaxing vacation. • While the resort is wonderful, the price feels quite steep compared to similar destinations in Mexico, particularly given the ongoing construction on the property, which detracts from the peaceful atmosphere. Despite these points, we truly enjoyed our stay and have many positive memories. The beautiful setting, excellent food, and friendly staff made this a special experience. With a few adjustments, this hotel could become one of the best in Bacalar. We would definitely recommend it to others and hope to return one day to see how it continues to evolve!

Our habitats Bacalar is as stunning as any organic hotel in the world can be, however, may not be for everyone. This is an organic, outdoor vip experience but lacks perfection setting compared to a city hotel, thus expect some annoyances that nature can bring. The setting: in the middle of the jungle next to the lagoon it is perfection at its finest. The service and food complement the setting. Not a party place, it is only to enjoy yourself and your partner. This is the type of hotels you will see in top notch magazines for vip travels. Food great, prices ridiculously low, service 5 diamonds, all in all amazing experience.

Bacalar and around the lagoon are developing fast, maybe too fast given the unique and delicate nature of the area, I guess go before they damage the golden goose (the lagoon). The hotel is about 15 mins from bacalar town by taxi, and faces directly onto the lagoon. Rooms are nice, straw huts doesn't do them justice, as they have nice bathrooms, comfy beds, separate toilets and an outdoor private shower. Food is good and not overly expensive, although the prices for wine are rather steep, but that's the same in most of Mexico. They do some daily 'events' mainly around yoga, and of course paddle boarding which is all day (take one out before sunrise and watch it from the lagoon, magic!) All in all, a very nice location and stay. Negatives: Wifi is good but there is zero phone signal, not a big issue but there were a few online things I needed to do, that I couldn't. I was also confused by their 'toilet' policy. As we were told by the manager that no toilet paper etc can be flushed, however there are no signs or mention of it elsewhere. Is it ok or not? One suspects it's best not, but they don't actually want too in-force it as it might 'damage' trade! I also had an issue with the lighting in the bathroom. No light anywhere near the mirror, so shaving becomes a bit of a guess! I mentioned it when we left, to be told, it was 'atmospheric' lighting. I do wish hotel managers would just accept genuine suggestions without resorting to nonsense excuses. We also had a small issue with the final bill. Not that unusual, but the check out staff don't seem to have any autonomy to make some very easy calls, and it took 20 mins plus for them to agree to remove about $10 from a $1000 dollar bill, on something not delivered, and on which the manager again resorted to excuses, rather than the starting point of maybe, the customer is right (which we were, as confirmed later).

This was the fourth and final destination on our 2 week tour of Mexico. The setting is stunning. The rooms are really lovely, we had 2 lagoon rooms, with Mexican textiles used to great effect and the outdoor shower is a treat. Bring an eye mask if you like your lie-ins, when the sun is up, it’s bright! The staff in the restaurant and the bar could not be more helpful and friendly. The food and drinks selection and quality was excellent. Check in was a bit chaotic but nothing major. Any small niggles with the room were quickly sorted out. You communicate with hotel management by WhatsApp. Would love to give it 5 stars … but … The music played in the lagoon bar/restaurant- where you have breakfast, lunch and some dinners, was so loud that out of 3 full days I must have spent a whole day in my room for some peace and quiet, which given how lovely the rooms are with great views is not a hardship but it should not be necessary to retreat from the lagoon. Even on the furthest sun lounger it was intrusive. It’s such a lovely setting, so peaceful and beautiful that I don’t understand why you would not let guests enjoy the tranquility. Birdsong all around and there’s the occasional plop of a kingfisher in the water. The selection was also completely random, from Paul Simon to experimental jazz. The live music with local bands in the evening was really good and if some of that was played in the background then it would have added to the atmosphere but as it was, it was awful. It’s not a ‘clubby’ place (there’s plenty of that in Cancun, which is why we came here) it’s marketed on its setting in nature with mindful yoga sessions, and it’s adult only, so no noisy kids running around. Most couples seemed to have been on their ‘babymoon’. We did ask them to turn it down at some point, but a few hours later it was back. A real shame.

My husband and and I stayed 4 nights here for our babymoon and had the best boutique resort experience we’ve had thus far. The tree deck on the lagoon is the main highlight. The service there is outstanding. Victor, one of the servers, became a good friend over the course of our stay. He was so attentive, remembered what we liked for breakfast, and went out of his way to make sure we were ere constantly enjoying our time. The rooms are so comfortable, spacious, and have all that you need to feel at home yet still in the jungle. We signed up for a cocoa ceremony, sound bath, sunrise paddle board, and couples massages - all incredible. We also attended the daily workout classes in the Shala and some of their other complimentary activities offered. The food was so beautifully presented, we loved that breakfast was included, and indulged late siege (their restaurant) for dinner. It’s about a $10 US taxi ride to town. We had stayed 4 days prior at an Airbnb in town so found ourselves wanting to stay more at the resort. Everything is so well thought out here and they really prioritize connecting with nature. We will be back
