The only thing I can think of I would improve is the positioning of the pool to the path of the sun. There isn't a lot of sun time, but then again, when in Bangkok why would you spend your time laying by the pool. From the greetings of the doormen upon arrival the efficient, professional, friendliness of every staff person we encountered, which was many, was exceptional ! The complimentary greeting tea was so good and healthy, we bought one to use as a mix for a drink by the pool. Not only was the room comfortable and beautiful, the 12th floor sauna, steam room, pool and locker room were top notch. Although we didn't use the spa for a massage, several couples did and were very complimentary. We enjoyed the happy hour drinks both at the pool sky-bar and the lobby bar almost every day of our stay. The staff once again was exceptional. We arranged one of the many temple tours through the concierge. It was very inexpensive to use a "private tour" and an excellent suggestion due to limitiations of our group. Although all of the staff was perfect, most impressive to me was the ladies at the front desk. There are two books in the nightstand. The Christian new testament which I'm familiar with. There is also a book "The Teaching of Buddha in both Thai and English. We were taking a temple tour so I decided to read a bit of this teaching. I found it very interesting and asked the front desk if they were complimentary or I could purchase it. After them checking with several people, to my surprise, upon my checkout I was presented with a complimentary copy of it. I think Bee, Kathy, Ja and Khun Wan had something to do with that and I am forever greateful. Enjoy your stay in the beautiful country of Thailand, and I would stongly suggest you choose the Lancaster while in Bangkok. Greg

I spent eight nights at the Lancaster Bangkok. It is conveniently located just a ten minute walk from the Phetchaburi and Makkasan MRT stations. The hotel is well-appointed, well-maintained, and well-staffed. My room was always kept clean, tidy and well-supplied by the housekeeping staff. The breakfast has variety and the food is of excellent quality. The club lounge is a wonderful retreat from the busy-ness of the city. The ladies who staff the lounge were always kind, warm, and gracious and always went out of their way to ensure I was looked after. Special commendations to Paint and Guitar. The concierge, Ake, helped to make my time in Bangkok so memorable. He gave me detailed instructions on how to get to the places I wanted to visit and how to return to the hotel afterward. I told him I wanted to use public transportation whenever possible. With his suggestions I ended up using the BTS (train on elevated tracks), the subway, local buses (basically a pick up truck with a cover over the box, with side rails and seats along the sides), taxis, river ferries, and canal ferries. Often signs were written only on Thai, but because of Ake’s detailed instructions, I was as able to get to the sights and back home again safely. As it turns out, getting to and from the various attractions were sometimes just as much fun as seeing the attractions themselves. This made my stay more adventurous and memorable. I always felt safe, even when out in the far reaches of the city. The Lancaster Bangkok is a wonderful retreat from property, but it is the staff that makes it memorable.

Truly impressed from the moment we've stepped in up to check-out. We've arrived quite early - about 9AM and we knew that check-in was only later, around 14:00. Still we've asked the lady at the reception if it will be possible to check-in earlier and also to get a nice room with a great view. We've left our luggage there, my phone number and went for a walk. In 2h, about 11AM I got the call from the very nice lady from the reception informing us that our room was ready and we can go whenever we want. The room was absolutely fabulous - big, with a comfortable bed, all kind of amenities. Plus de promised awesome view from 16th floor. The hotel has also a nice pool area, which gets a bit crowded sometimes but I can't say it bothered us. Haven't checked the spa. The breakfast in the morning was great and the good thing is that is opened from 6AMz, so even when we left and had a flight in the morning we've managed to have breakfast.

Great Hotel with great service staff at a top level service. In particular Ms. Ja, Ms. Plug and Ms. Fong, who are always helpful and responsive to any customer requests who sum up to a wonderful experience. Furthermore, the hotel is at a good location near the city center and the airport. See you again soon!
