It was a really lovely hotel, and the food was really good; we stayed 2 nights, and the room was nice but small. The staff were very friendly. It's a good location for getting into town and seeing the sights. I felt they could have offered transport services for getting into town.

I booked my trip months in advance for a special birthday treat. From the moment I arrived I was treated like a VIP with a welcome and tour by Katie who then escorted me to my room which to my delight had been upgraded and even had a view of Bath ( did need tip toes to fully appreciate it, but unexpected). The room had all the expected facilities and more with the tea and coffee offerings and Jo Loves toiletries. I was pleased with the welcome card from Clara and the delicious fruit bowl and small chocolates. On the afternoon of arrival I enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea and was able to have additional sandwiches which all went well with the flight of champagne , unable to finish the cakes I had them packaged for a later snack , the box was ideal and had a carrying handle. On the morning of my birthday I was presented with a cake at breakfast with a message in chocolate on the plate. For my dinner that evening I enjoyed the Al la carte menu all 3 courses presented like art works and absolutely memorable. Every staff member I encountered during my 3 nights stay was friendly, and extremely helpful, Marek the breakfast supervisor being really charming. My stay was unforgettable and every part of the experience fantastic, even Alfie the cat was friendly. I didn’t experience the spa but hope that on a future visit I can enjoy this too. Thanks to all for making my stay sheer joy.

Great building, decorated with warmth and attention to the heritage of the building. Lovely staff and fab restaurant right across the lawn. Great valet, who was so accommodating with our car on a busy new years eve in Bath. Steam room and sauna was good.

Over all a nice stay and a lovely experience to stay on the crescent in Bath, what a beautiful building. We booked last minute for NYE but we weren’t intending to go to the hotels party, the hotel rang me to confirm the bar would be closed from 7pm and that was fine but we had intended to use the spa for a couple of hours before going out and on arrival we were told it was closing at 4pm, check-in wasn’t until 3.30pm so we found ourselves unable to use any of those facilities which was extremely disappointing. We couldn’t fathom why they took the trouble to call to advise the bar would be shut at 7pm but not mention the spa closing at 4pm. We ended up spending two hours in the bar, the staff there were really attentive and lovely. The bedroom itself was fine, the bed was comfy although all the pillows were too soft. The plumbing was a bit dodgy, the plug didn’t fit in the bath so water escaped during my bath, the toilet cistern kept running and the shower cover fell off. Minor issues but you’d expect perfection for the calibre of this hotel. Check-out was frustrating! They owed us money from the deposit was paid on arrival and concierge said we had to wait for the receptionist but she was checking-in new guests and showing them around taking them to their room (at 11am??) which meant a queue formed with lots of us getting frustrated as we wanted to make our way home. I don’t understand, if they knew they will be checking guests in early why didn’t they get more staff or concierge to be able to help. We told concierge that we were happy for reception to refund any monies and leave the key to which he said she would email the invoice but we haven’t heard anything since.
