Originally built in the 1930’s, SO/ Berlin Das Stue’s diplomatic legacy is evident in the heritage building’s stately architecture and modernist façade, designed by German architect Johann Emil Schaudt (1871-1957) and inspired by Danish classicism. Located in Berlin’s diplomatic quarter, Das Stue was renovated to invoke a calming ambiance, with open spaces and contemporary minimalist design. The Potsdam based firm Axthelm Architekten added a new wing on the building’s former back courtyard, which is clad in a floral patterned photo concrete surface acting as an elegant counterbalance to the rough dressed stone of the main building. While Patricia Urquiola artistically directed and designed all public spaces and fluidly integrated shared spaces such as the lobby, cocktail bar and restaurants, LVG Arquitectura finalized the interior room and suite design.

Still my favourite hotel in Berlin. Friendly and committed staff. Stunning view to the zoo, peaceful location in City West. Drinks and food really good and extremely cosy atmosphere. A small but very attractive spa area. Simply Das Stue - Unique!

Located adjacent to Berlin's beautiful Tiergarten, this hotel was formerly the Danish Embassy. You know how some hotels try hard to make you think the place is chic? Das Stue doesn't have to try -- it is totally fabulous. It just is. The public areas are well designed and outfitted; a cozy bar with a very good restaurant (had dinner there the night we arrived). Upon arrival we were greeted with bubbly wine as we registered. Their concierge provided great information on places to visit during the day and clubs at night. Next time we are in Berlin, this is definitely the place we will stay.

The SO/ Berlin Das Stue is a luxurious 5-star gem located in Berlin’s diplomatic district, right next to the Tiergarten and Berlin Zoo. Housed in the former Royal Danish Embassy, this unique hotel has been a standout since its grand opening in December 2012. It is the only SO/ property in Germany, part of the Accor hotel group’s collection of luxury lifestyle hotels that blend local culture with a playful and audacious spirit. The hotel masterfully combines the timeless elegance of its 1930s architecture, designed by Johann Emil Schaudt, with the modern sophistication infused by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola. Art and fashion are integral to the hotel’s unique character, with designers Viktor & Rolf contributing to its identity by creating the logo and uniforms, inspired by the classic uniforms of grand hotels and nodding to the nearby Berlin Zoo. Boasting 78 elegant rooms and suites, the SO/ Berlin Das Stue offers a truly luxurious experience. During my stay, I enjoyed a SO Embassy Room on the top floor, complete with a large terrace offering stunning views of the Tiergarten. These rooms feature wooden floors, king-size beds, 4K entertainment systems, working desks, built-in wardrobes, and bathrooms with large rainforest showers, some with free-standing bathtubs and separated toilets. Modern amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, Nespresso coffee machines, and daily complimentary water, with housekeeping conducted twice daily. The bathrooms are equipped with exclusive toiletries created by the German brand Biehl Parfumkunstwerke, known for its artistic approach to fragrance creation. The five-star boutique hotel features a restaurant, "The Casual", with seating inside & on the courtyard terrace, & a bar, the "Stue Bar". "The Casual" serves breakfast, lunch, & dinner with varying hours throughout the week. Breakfast includes a buffet with a selection of bread rolls, pastries, cakes, cereals, yogurt, cold cuts ... in a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere of sausage & cheese, smoked salmon, hummus, spreads, vegetables, fruit, various fruit juices & sparkling wine. In addition to the buffet, warm à la carte dishes such as Eggs Benedict or Shakshuka are served at the table on a complimentary basis. In the evening the restaurant focuses on modern Mediterranean & European cuisine, using seasonal ingredients to create dishes that highlight the pure flavors of each component. The "Stue Bar" serves an impressive selection of whiskey & vermouth, along with a variety of other expertly crafted cocktails. In addition guests enjoy breathtaking views of the Berlin Zoo from the bar. The spa area on the ground floor spans 260 square meters & features a 14-meter pool, a Finnish sauna, & three massage rooms, ideal for both individual and couples’ treatments. The hotel's fitness room, which is located on the first floor, is equipped with high-quality Technogym equipment & offers a comprehensive training experience. The Tiergarten on the hotel's doorstep also offers the opportunity to go jogging. The SO/ Berlin Das Stue is truly a hidden gem in the middle of the hustle & bustle of the German capital & impresses with its unique design, its quiet yet central location & its good gastronomic offerings.

From the moment we walked in the door, we received an overwhelming warm welcome. Everyone we interacted with went above and beyond for us. So kind and polite. Our rooms were beautiful, super quiet and clean. The beds were comfortable as well. Honestly, we slept the best at this hotel of the 3 we stayed at in Europe. We had breakfast each morning and ordered room service and all of our food was delicious. We utilized the zoo tickets and loved that we could enter the zoo from the property. We also loved that the location was in walking distance to restaurants and shopping (about 15-20 min casual walk). The Cafe am Neuen See, Biergarten, a lovely indoor/outdoor restaurant with a park setting was steps away and also had really good food or a nice place to have a beer or cocktail to unwind. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful and memorable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The Staff is very helpful and friendly the hotel is modern and rooms are well equipped on first night the air conditioning in our room was not working well so it was too hot , but after we complained the hotel upgraded us to a suite with good air condition, so the other night were excellent. Breakfast is very good with menu for eggs and coffee and small buffet (with nice variety)
