Hotel AKA Boston Common

Calvin at the front desk was absolutely wonderful! He was quick to accommodate the group I was with, and even handled a guest complaint with grace and class. The room I was in was beautiful and had a great view of the city. I could even see the Citgo sign from my room! Overall this is a great hotel!

The hotel staff provided recommendations for anything and everything we asked and the recommendations did not disappoint. Shout out to Calvin who made us feel like family. Didn’t get the names of everyone but ALL were extremely kind. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Had a nice view of the NYE fireworks from our room. Great location in walking distance to so many things. Suggestion: Shower only has Half of glass and doesn’t close the person showering completely in like a door or curtain would. I was so cold as soon as water went off bc I could not dry bf the cold air hit me. Also, no handles to help get out of tub and no place for towels to hang. I’ll say again, though, fantastic stay. Shower is a preference/suggestion but wouldn’t stop me from staying.

The service was great the staff awesome and very lovely from the person who took my car and help me with my bags through the counter customer service people. I love the experience I would repeated in a near future to explore more places of Boston and near places

So, we’ve been to Boston before, but this time decided we wanted to be around The Common (great location for a lot of the sights, but also some great restaurants and bars). For my 50th, we flew into Boston on New Year’s Eve and on arrival at the hotel (we hadn’t stayed at the hotel before) were greeted by Joseph (what a star) and Keyarah. It was late, but they were so friendly, accommodating and helpful and gave us advice on how to get to the harbour for the New Year’s firework display. When we got to the room, there was a bottle of fizz and a lovely note from them both. Next day, when I contacted reception, Calvin was on duty - and this is the guy that made my 50th birthday so extra special. Talk about going above and beyond, Calvin was next level. From how he went above and beyond to make my 50th birthday unforgettable, he also made the best restaurant recommendations (he recommended a sea food restaurant, a steak restaurant and a French cuisine restaurant and they were all amazing - the latter being so good, we went twice). Calvin Napoleon Cherry (I won’t forget that name in a hurry!), what a legend. Hotel AKA are lucky to have him and should be proud of how he goes above and beyond to make a special short break so unforgettable. The hotel was great (we had a corner room with a great view, and it’s ideally located to do all the sights - also lovely having The Common on your doorstep), but it was the staff that made it extra special.

We stayed at the AKA over new year and it was a perfect choice. Clean, big room with plenty of space for the four of us. Easy walking distance to Boston Common and many of the sites—and the subway line was within a block to get us everywhere else we needed to go. But mostly, I’d like to complement the super friendly staff from the valet, to house keeping, everyone was helpful. Joseph and Sherley at the front desk went above and beyond for us. A great family trip.
