Fairmont El San Juan Hotel

A wonderful experience! We loved everything about this hotel. The service was excellent and the restaurant cuisine was world class. The Cana restaurant was our favorite and the waiters Alex and Alberto were awesome! We loved the pool and beach areas with the DJ. We also loved the Meat Market restaurant- food and service were excellent. We loved the nightclub and nightly entertainment in the lobby. Housekeeping was great and we loved the fragrance inside the hotel and our room after cleaning. We are used to high end hotels and first class travel and we would definitely stay here again.

Reading recent negative reviews made me question our choice to stay here. Thankfully, it turned out much better than expected. The hotel is a quick ride from the airport, and though we arrived midday, our room was ready. We found everything to be clean and well kept, but not perfect. I didn't love that the bathroom door was a sliding one, and the bottom of the shower door had a wide gap, allowing water to leak out. But what I did love was the hospitality. The staff at the pools and especially the staff at the beach were friendly and accommodating. Sunscreen, bug spray and towels are free and available to hotel guests. While not located in a touristy area, there is a Foxwoods casino inside the hotel and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We found two that we really liked and ate there multiple times. As for a party scene, there wasn't much of one, except for the few nights when the hotel welcomed guests on a company retreat. I imagine it might be different during the summer months. Overall, I'm happy to say we enjoyed our stay.

We had a nice trip here. Very close to the airport. Pros : Kenneth at front desk... Amazing!!! Housekeeping staff... So accommodating and kind. Beautiful beach and pool area. Good food. Room was nice. We stayed in Banyan bungalow which was great. Cons: resort looking a little run down Food is very expensive. It's not all inclusive (which we knew going in) Location not really near anything. Need to Uber everywhere Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We truly had a great stay here and definitely want to come back. We are not afraid to leave negative reviews when deserving but it was really awesome. Stayed on the 9th floor so there was no noise issue. The pool area is fantastic and the staff is among the nicest we have ever encountered. The hotel entrance area is stunning and we found the dining options quite OK. The only annoying issue was that the concierge recommended a restaurant (Euphoria) that was just a bad overpriced tourist trap and when we told them afterwards they were quite nonchalant about it. But we still give it 5 stars and plan to be back.

Established hotel with beautiful grounds however guest rooms are poorly maintained, paint chipping, our initial room had a ceiling panel missing, ac not working, musty smell, 76 degrees, water leaking through bathroom ceiling. After an hour + wait they did find us another room.
