Mark and Jack are the true professionals. I drive a tour bus and stay at a lot of hotels, but these guys are on top of their game. The best at what they do. My passengers even commented on the great customer service here that is lacking around the world.

My stay Emeline was fantastic. From first walking in to the beautiful decor and warm setting. Staff (everyone) was friendly and welcoming. My room was a King suite and perfect for me & my dog. The hotel is set right in the heart of the markets and stores. Great restaurants and places to visit & explore. The restaurant & coffee shop at Emeline are real good too. I had two great meals there over a one day stay. Highly recommend and I will be back to Charleston & Emeline.

Note we are still in the hotel now for our last night (of 3) — sitting in complete darkness as the power has been out for the past couple hours. The front desk has no clue how to respond in a situation like this. What’s most concerning is that an older gentleman came to ask about the power outage expressing that they need electricity to power their device that helps them breathe and the receptionist told the man that the power was coming back on very soon — which it has not. What’s also strange is that there’s a generator that is powering the lobby and restaurant — but not the rooms for some reason. We got one of the 2-floor rooms on the 1st floor facing the courtyard/restaurant. Did not know this was the case as we would have avoided this given how loud it is with the music etc; on our first night there was an event as well. I’ve had to put on earplugs every night to fall asleep. Housekeeping does the bare minimum. They only provide new towels and make the bed. They don’t clean anything; we have come back to room each day with the same old mugs and glasses. Additionally, we have 2 young kids and they were supposed to turn the coach downstairs into a bed on our first night — we explicitly told the front desk 2x before we left for dinner. 3 hours later the bed still wasn’t made. I called housekeeping, concierge and the front desk multiple times but no one picks up. So I had to physically go to the front desk and ask. Overall — not a good experience and would definitely not recommend. I would say the restaurant’s food is very good — but again service is lacking.

1003103573 Here is a new twist. We have stayed at many boutique hotels in Charleston eg French Quarter Inn, the Loutrel etc. It has an excellent location and the staff was friendly and efficient. I have a few pet peeves: Room was $631 with all the fees and taxes. The room is extremely small for a full king size bed and room. Upon checking out I was curious as to what a $15.98 charge was under the acronym of CCRF. I am told that it is a (credit card convenience fee) couple of thoughts come to mind, one it seems to be a money grab to me after spending over $600 for a room now you want to charge me $15.98.credit card fee?? So to avoid it people need to pay with cash? Well you know that want a card on file for potential incidental charges. Both of the other two hotels I mentioned above don’t charge this fee. You get a nice king size room that is much larger and better priced as well. The kicker is we get two cokes in our room along with a small bag of cookies and assorted nuts for free as well as two wooden chips to use at their sister hotel (Little Palm) for a free wine or beer they are trying to drive customers to. In my humble opinion forget the cookies and cokes and two free drinks and omit your CCRF fee. I won’t be staying here again anytime soon
