As the breeze flows serenely through the lush forests of Chiang Mai, the sounds of the Mai Ping River like a beautiful song as it winds through the emerald mountains, 137 Pillars House emerges from the forest as the fine gem that it is. In the ancient town of Wat Gate, this fabulous hotel seamlessly blends stylish Western design with serene Eastern touches. Bright and charming, each individually styled room is warm and inviting, with vibrant color accents and walls of windows and glass doors that allow sunlight to play off the rich wood floors and accents. Plush king-sized, four-poster beds ensure a wonderful night's sleep, while private terraces are the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding forest. With truly elegant bathrooms, ranging from standalone classic claw-foot tubs to enticing rain showers with open ceilings, all the modern amenities, and personal butler service, enjoy each day at 137 Pillars House as if you were true royalty.

This was our first time in Chiang Mai. We were here for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. Everyone was so kind, friendly and so helpful. Toto was amazing and had wonderful suggestions and was very accommodating since we had a very late flight back to the US. The accommodations were well appointed and the bed was so comfy. The pool and spa were relaxing. I cannot say enough about the service provided everywhere on property. It is a great location as well. We will definitely stay here when we come back!

137 Pillars was one of the four hotels that my wife were fortunate to have stayed at during our recent trip to Thailand. It's "hidden" in a quiet mixed use neighborhood, close to Old Town Chiang Mai. From the moment you enter the property you get an immediate sense of privacy and tranquility. During our check-in we were personally greeted by Ann Arrowsmith, General Manager and our assigned "butler/concierge" Toto, who then escorted to our room while sharing the facilities available at the hotel. The on-site restaurant and bar are both excellent and tables are available both inside dining rooms our outside on the patio where breakfast is served. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at 137 Pillars during our stay; all were excellent both in choices and quality of food. The bar is also a nice spot to relax, pre/post dinner. If there's one aspect of stay that stands out it is the staff who are genuinely friendly, warm and cannot do enough to ensure your stay is memorable. Ann also checked up on us throughout or stay to ensure that our time at 137 Pillars was perfect. For anyone visiting Chiang Mai I highly recommend 137 Pillars for your home away from home.

137 Pillars House is absolutely Stunning and the level of service is Rare - the perfect balance between attentive, warm, friendly and formal. Our Suite (#5) was gorgeous and comfortable without being pretentious. Our Butler, Tuck, and the entire team (Toto, Earth, the restaurant team, the pool and bar team, front desk team) were all absolutely fantastic. The Corp. GM for this property is Anne Arrowsmith, and WOW does she run a great resort. She is constantly present “front of house” - making each guest feel welcomed and special. We really did not want to leave! It’s really hard to believe that in Oct 2024 Chiang Mai was impacted by a 100 year flood event when you are inside the enclave of 137 Pillars House. Anne and her team pulled off a miraculous, Herculean effort in restoring 137 Pillars House. If you did not see the water lines on the walls of neighboring properties you’d not know anything had happened. The corporate involvement in the Chiang Mai community is also noteworthy. Through Anne’s leadership and the support of her corporate ownership, 137 Pillars House supports the Save The Elephants foundation and its recovery / restoration after the devastation caused by the October flooding. For us, there is only one truly remarkable resort in Chiang Mai: 137 Pillars House!

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous. Our travel planner said we were starting the trip with the best hotel and he was right. It is such a beautiful, serene oasis with the most accommodating and lovely staff. Can't say enough good, just go experience it for yourself.

Everything that has been said about this place is true. It is amazing. Location, staff, food, service, cleanliness, all 5 stars. We arrived a week after it was reopened because of flooding. You would have never know. We enjoyed it immensely and we will definitely come back.
