A very comfortable hotel with a front desk staff that did everything possible to ensure a memorable stay. Shea Linehan was of particular good service and made sure our anniversary was a special day. His welcoming attitude and love of his job was very apparent and was very appreciated.

I stayed at Kimpton Gray for 4 nights for business. It's a decent hotel, except for the design of the bathroom, which is terrible. Detailed pros and cons below. Pros: 1. Great location if you have business in the loop. In the middle of the loop business area. Not too far (15min walk) to the River and the River North, and Millenium Park area. 2. Hip design. Boutique hotel vibe. I love the design of Kimpton in general and stay at Kimpton very often, and this hotel is no exception - cool design. 3. Having Starbucks on the ground floor is convenient. 4. Nice staff. Cons 1. The design of the shower room is terrible. Somehow the designer thought it is a great idea not to have anything that separate the shower room and the toilet, and there is nothing separates between them on the floor. As a result, whenever I used the shower, it was a flood on the floor of the toilet. I had to leave towels that block the water from the shower room all the time. This is so terrible. Whoever designed the bathroom should not do any design. 2. The bar was not open late. Not convenient. 3. The reception is on the 2nd floor. 1st floor is a bit confusing, without much sign or information. At the end, I love Kimption, but I don't want to stay in a hotel with such a terrible shower room, especially for the (higher) price.

All the staff were so friendly. Even though I have low status at IHG they still constantly thanked me for my loyalty and made me feel special! I had a wardrobe malfunction and a very nice lady on my floor quickly got me safety pins - this was so important to fixing an otherwise bad morning. The rooms were comfortable albeit a little dark. Thanks for the great stay!!

Almost everything about this hotel was great. The location was central to doing things in the loop with easy access to Michigan Avenue. The neighborhood felt safe. The room was clean and comfortable, although a large pillar (it's an old building) in the middle of the room was challenging at times. While we don't normally eat in hotel restaurants, we took advantage of the in-house restaurant for Sunday morning breakfast and found the service excellent and the menu full and reasonably priced. Throughout our 3-day stay the front desk stayed in touch with us via text and was able to accommodate some non-standard requests that we made. Our only big complaint is that the flat screen TV was mounted firmly on the wall allowing no access to any HDMI ports. We had brought our streaming device so we would be able to watch movies and TV shows of our own choosing. We could not figure out how to make this happen and the front desk confirmed, twice, that it was impossible to attach streaming devices to their room TVs. Minor complaints include the very dark design aesthetic in the guestroom. The dark carpet, closet and walls made it very easy to lose dark objects like cellphones and socks. I should also mention that the in-room safe was mounted high in the closet. It's hard to see inside the (dark) safe and a shorter person might have trouble running a hand along the floor of the safe to verify everything has been removed at the end of one's stay.

We did stayed here as a quick anniversary getaway, and we had such an amazing time, starting with the check in that was so smooth and Andrew was so amazing , I’d say that he went beyond the extra mile with the Anniversary amenity that we weren’t expecting, we also had lunch at Fillmore , and our server was so nice , I can’t recall her name right now, but she was outstanding, besides that I laughed at a little awkward sign that was hanging over the wall In the bathroom… I will definitely stay there again
