The Joule

The staff is amazing especially Holli, who is a party of the management staff. They are so in tune with their guests that the Valet even remembered my name after we return from dinner. They made our 9th wedding anniversary stay one for the record books.

We flew in for the Cotton Bowl. Since a major winter storm was forecasted, we flew in a day earlier than the storm. We knew 90% of businesses would be closed for at least 24 hours during the storm and depending how bad it was maybe more. But not the Joule or the top notch restaurant CBD (Central Business District) that is conveniently located on the first floor of the hotel. The hotel had staff members stay overnight in the hotel during the storm in order to care for not only hotel guests but since the restaurant is a local staple, locals were dining there as well. A restaurant manager went so far as to dig out an old drip coffee maker and have it delivered to our room so we could enjoy the gourmet coffee we had brought along on the trip. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed hunkering down with the Joule and her wonderful staff during the storm. And my Buckeyes won!

My boyfriends and I came to the hotel during a very chilly, inclement weather weekend so not all the hotel offerings were running exactly as normal. Completely understandable. Valarian at the front desk was so gracious in letting us know about those minor changes, and expressed regret at the situation. BUT! Where he really stood out was later in the night after we left the concert we were in town for. We had multiple Ubers cancel on us as we were stranded out in the cold. I took a chance, and called the concierge desk, and he picked up right away and recognized us by name. I explained our situation, and he said he had an idea, and after a brief hold explained that Chase the valet would be coming to get us if we could provide an address. Chase showed up quickly, and was cheerful when we jumped in the car, darn near frozen blocks from being marooned outside. Couldn't have been a better experience, and it was entirely down to the quick action and helpfulness of those two.

I booked a Terrace Suite six months ago for my husband's birthday. We always stay the night out at a hotel for birthdays - going on 11 years now! We had never stayed at the Joule so I was excited to take hubby to a new spot. Although we arrived over an our after check-in time, our Terrace Suite was not ready. The front desk was very nice and said the room would not be ready for a while and since I had a Leaders Club membership, they offered to upgrade us to a Deluxe Suite. I really wanted the terrace, but after he told me it was in a "newer tower" I said it was fine. After waiting a short time for the keys to that room, the attendant said IT was also not ready. The attendant offered two cocktails on the house while we waited and I appreciated that. After a short while he delivered our keys and we headed to our room. Although a bit dated, the room was nice. We headed to our celebration dinner and after coming back noticed it was a little chilly in the bedroom so we turned the heat up. I woke up in the middle of the night freezing and although the heat temp was set to 78, the room temp on the thermostat was registering much lower. I felt the air coming out of the vent and it was cold. Knowing then that the heat was not working in that particular room (separate thermostat than the living space), we cranked up the heat in the living space and opened the door so some of it could come into the bedroom. We had an early start to the day, but I could not take a shower because the bathroom, which is off the bedroom, was miserably cold. So we packed up and decided to leave after having breakfast downstairs. Silver lining - breakfast was delicious! On the way out of the hotel restaurant I notified the front desk of the heat problem. They offered to move us but I told them that would be necessary, as we were checking out that day anyway. He offered free breakfast but we had just eaten. Although the staff was very nice and offered us a few perks due to our issues, the hotel did not meet my expectations. We have stayed just about everywhere in Dallas and my bar was set high due to the hotel's reputation (and price point). It really was a letdown. :(

Love the Joule! My wife and I spend our anniversary here every year since moving to Dallas. They are always extremely accommodating and the rooms are just perfect. We have 0 complaints and plan to continue to stay, year after year. The staff is wonderful and the cleanliness is unmatched. Thank you for making g this our go-to hotel!
