My recent stay at the Conrad in Dublin was incredibly disappointing. From the outset, the customer service was subpar. It took over 40 minutes to check in, with the front desk agent appearing inexperienced and reluctant to seek help. The room itself felt outdated and lacked the comfort one would expect from a Conrad property. Housekeeping was equally frustrating—on our second day, we returned at 3:00 p.m. to find our room still unserviced despite leaving at 9:30 a.m. Breakfast was the biggest letdown. The dining room was overcrowded, and the small tables were uncomfortable for two people. To top it off, certain hot items came with a €9 surcharge, even for Hilton Honors Diamond members. Compared to my experiences at the Shelbourne and Merrion hotels, the Conrad falls far short. A thoroughly disappointing experience.

Disappointing all around. The rooms are dated and unimpressive. The service is uninspired and sometimes laughable. The value is not there. We were upgraded to a 7th floor room on the pretense that it had a good view. I am attaching pictures of the view - an office building and HVAC systems. Worse, there are only two elevators and one of them was out of service for 4 of our 5 night stay. For 4 days in a row, the hotel put up signs stating the elevators would be repaired “tomorrow”. It became a running joke as guests packed the single elevator sardine style that it would be better “tomorrow”. The hotel does provide nice chocolates as part of the turndown service. One night, there was no turndown service - we didn’t care but we missed the chocolates. I called the front desk and the receptionist seemed confused by the concept of a turndown service. Eventually someone dropped off a few pieces of candy. The next night, I called the receptionist again when there was no turndown service - she quickly informed me that was an issue for housekeeping and transferred me to a voice mail. I didn’t bother leaving a message. Sometimes the receptionists were very good - sometimes they seemed lost. The bathrooms lack any ventilation and become swamp-like after a shower. My wife discovered mold growing in the shower under the soap dish. Pictures attached. We partook in the relatively expensive Christmas dinner. It was okay, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The hotel had a harpist to provide background music, which was very nice until the staff decided to drown her out with loud retro sounding disco music. It was laughable - what were they thinking? It was a Christmas dinner! They eventually agreed to turn off the disco - for a while. So the harpist was nice - for a while. (There is also a story about our lost reservation, but too long for here.) Finally, the breakfast was nice, but not as nice as other reviews portray. We left Dublin for Amsterdam and stayed at the Hilton - they had a similar but better version of the breakfast, with much more variety and some free a la carte orders. Given the price difference, a Conrad breakfast shouldn’t come in second to a Hilton’s. For diamond members, the value is not there. There is a long story behind the upgrade issue we had with the hotel - but this review is already too long. Suffice to say don’t expect much. We also received nothing as a welcome gift. (Our inexpensive airport hotel provided a mint and a cookie - so they out performed the Conrad!). You do get a free pretty good breakfast - but a la carte items are extra. There are some nice hotels in Dublin - this one doesn’t deserve loyalty from diamond members.

"My stay at Conrad Dublin was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a stunning lobby that set the tone for my visit. The staff was incredibly attentive and went out of their way to ensure I had a comfortable stay. My room was beautifully appointed, with luxurious furnishings and a breathtaking view of the city. The on-site restaurant offered an exquisite dining experience, and the breakfast buffet was a highlight of my mornings. The location is perfect for exploring Dublin, with many attractions within walking distance. I can't recommend Conrad Dublin highly enough—it's the perfect blend of luxury and comfort!"

Broken toilet seat, silverfish, good staff hidden. That sums it up! A cracked toilet seat on the verge of breaking. Silverfish around the sink. Table staff with zero interest and great staff behind the bar. This is apparently a 5 star hotel. I think not. There are much better ways of spending your money.

We stayed at this hotel in November 2024. Our room was warm and stuffy. When we asked at the front desk, we were told the AC was broken. When we checked in on the status of the broken AC the following day, we were told the AC wasn't, in fact, broken, the hotel just turns off the cooling option in the winter. When I mentioned how warm our room was, we were told to open a window and were offered a fan. This is absurd. A hotel of this size will have warm and stuffy rooms, even in the winter. The windows didn't open very wide and didn't cool the room but it did let in street noise and tons of light! As a result, we slept terribly during our 4 night stay. I expected more from a Hilton.
