About the Hotel

Gracefully created from four restored Georgian townhouses, The Merrion is an historic retreat in the heart of Dublin. Only a tiny brass nameplate marks the hotel's unassuming brick exterior, but inside, marble floors and columns and ornate rococo plasterwork ceilings show off the grand style of 18th century Ireland. Each element of the hotel inspires admiration--from the bedrooms adorned with Irish fabrics and antiques to Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud to the soothing ambience of Tethra Spa. Take time to enjoy the notable works of 19th and 20th century art, considered to be one of the most important private collections in Ireland.

Quite simply exceptional

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Quite simply exceptionally positive feedback. One could not even begin to seek fault; from a bookmark being created and placed in my fiancé's book during a room turn down, though the care and attentiveness of the restaurant staff, the level of custemer service experinced is by far the best I have encountered in all of my travels. It is testament to all of the staff and management team that a venue can provide consitently superb hospitality. That ever memebr of staff encoutered was superb is rare and so it is also difficult to single out any specific memebr of staff, such was the collectively great experience. Beyond this, the room was absolutely stunning, such a great space and I can’t recall ever sleeping so well, nor feeling so at home in a hotel.

Five star plus.

Excellent hotel. It was our first time staying there. The staff are excellent. The experience starts when you arrive at the entrance and everything runs like clockwork. The bar in the Cellar was a great find and had a great buzz. The room was perfect.
