Everything was excellent, from check-in to checkout. The team are all friendly and kind, the rooms the best I have stayed in. The breakfast was amazing.

We stayed in a junior suite at The Bonham for one night and had both afternoon tea and the full Scottish breakfast. The whole experience was a joy from start to finish—quiet, comfortable, and full of thoughtful touches that made it feel special. The staff were genuinely lovely—helpful, warm, and attentive without ever being over the top. Our bags were brought up to the room, the radio was playing softly when we walked in, and there was a beautiful welcome tray of sweet treats with a handwritten note waiting for us. The room itself was gorgeous: high ceilings, a huge comfy bed, and massive windows with a view right across the rooftops of Edinburgh. It felt peaceful and tucked away, like a little pocket of calm. Even the scent of the hotel was lovely—fresh and clean but not overpowering. Afternoon tea was a real highlight. We sat in a wood-panelled room with yellow china, fresh flowers on the table, and a generous selection of sandwiches, scones and dainty desserts. It felt luxurious without being fussy. Breakfast the next morning was just as good—properly cooked, great quality, and a lovely slow start to the day. The bathroom was spotless, with a great shower, a deep bath, fluffy robes, and lovely Scottish toiletries. It was such a restful, low-key little escape—cosy, elegant, and full of charm. We’ll definitely be back.

This was an excellent stay. Staff was outstanding hotel was spot on with service and cleanliness, food quality was excellent. Relaxed atmosphere and good location. Not in the center of the hustle and bustle but close enough to all the sights. Highly recommended

Nice hotel, albeit the design has faded with new ownership, it was more artistic when part of the original owner's collection. Room we stayed in was far too warm (located on third floor). Good breakfast, friendly staff but need a little more training on looking at guests to ensure interaction.

On first arriving at The Bonham we were made to feel very welcome, all the staff were very polite and professional. Our room was beautifully decorated and very clean. The hotel is set in a great location approximately 10-15 minutes walk to the castle.
