Important - The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian has recently been renamed to The Caledonian Edinburgh, Curio Collection by Hilton. The Caledonian Edinburgh is currently undergoing renovation expected to be completed early 2025. The transformation of the hotel is already well underway and is taking place over a phased approach to ensure we can continue to operate as business as usual.
The Caledonian Edinburgh is one of Edinburgh's most significant and recognizable landmarks. Standing proudly at the west end of Princes Street, the heart of the capital, its reputation for style and excellence has attracted generations of locals, international visitors and notable personalities for over one hundred years. Built in 1903 and formerly part of the grand Caledonian Railway, the hotel is full of memories, including Peacock Alley which represents the historic heart, once the station concourse and ticket office. Surround yourself with heritage and over 100 years of hospitality, and become part of our story.

Elegant traditional hotel with magnificent views. You couldn't ask for better location or better service. It appears it was formally a Waldorf and many of those high quality amenities remain even with the Curio title. The restaurant provides great cocktails and dining options as well.

Very nice hotel in the middle of everything. Neat, clean, and awesome staff. The concierge Jay was the most informative, honest, friendly guy we met in Edinburgh. Jay had the answer for every question we had. He and all the staff were friendly, yet professional. As a Gold Hilton honors member and an Amex Platinum holder, I will absolutely let these companies know what a nice place the Caledonian is, with a guy like Jay.

Last weekend we stayed at the beautiful Caledonian Edinburgh, and honestly, it didn’t disappoint from the moment we checked in to when we (sadly) checked out! We had the warmest welcome, and were lucky enough to be upgraded to a Castle View room — the bed was so comfy, and they even left us a lovely handwritten card, chocolates, and fresh fruit. Such a nice touch! 🍫🍓 The hotel itself has so much history too. It first opened in 1903 as part of the Caledonian Railway Company’s station — and although the station closed in the 60s, the hotel stayed and has kept a lot of the original features, like the old station clock you can still see in the lobby. 🚂 It’s also known for its award-winning spa, amazing restaurants, and the best views of Edinburgh Castle. 🏰 We had brunch, dinner, and breakfast there — and every single meal was outstanding. Honestly couldn’t fault a thing. Such an iconic hotel, full of character, history, and proper Scottish hospitality. Can’t wait for our next visit already! 💛

Beautiful hotel - inside and outside. We were treated wonderfully well and all the staff were so welcoming and engaged with our young daughter. We loved the little Easter treats they gave her. The breakfast is truly something else and needs to be seen to be believed. Such a huge choice of foods which were presented attractively. Excellent room - really spacious and loved the full-sized toiletries in the bathroom. A truly special place that we will definitely be staying at again.

Lovely hotel it’s the perfect location which I suppose you pay the extra for Staff are helpful and friendly breakfast at £35pp and £6 extra if you want an omelette or eggs Benedict isn’t justified. I’ve stayed in numerous Hilton hotels at which breakfast averages £18pp with no extra charges and so much more on offer deluxe rooms overlook the car park and overlook the service entrance if you book a deluxe room, be prepared to be woken at 6:30 in the morning with reversing lorries Bringing in goods, banging lorry doors and dragging trolleies If Deluxe rooms were priced inline with other Hilton hotels with a warning of potential noise from service vehicles then I’m sure reviews would be better and complaints would be less However the staff were very helpful and friendly, coming to my room and experiencing the noise themselves plus taking proposals to see the management I’m sure your enjoy your stay here.
