About the Hotel
Important - The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian has recently been renamed to The Caledonian Edinburgh, Curio Collection by Hilton. The Caledonian Edinburgh is currently undergoing renovation expected to be completed early 2025. Great hotel , cold bedroom!!
Checked in today to the hotel for a business conference . There is no doubt that the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are really stylish but unfortunately my bedroom is absolutely freezing . i have been assured that the heating is working but there is a constant error message on the control panel in my bedroom and no heat coming out of the air vent at all . i am aware that a colleague of mine is in the same situation i have been provided with a heater and am beginning to warm up but this is an issue that clearly needs sorting .

Disappointing stay with spa only accessible by a 100 metre walk outside hotel on main road. !
My heart sank when I arrived at the hotel and was informed that renovations which have been taking place for already 6 months meant that the spa was only accessible by walking 100 metres on the street outside and the requirement to ring a bell to get in the side entrance to the spa. So my plans for a morning dip walking in my dressing gown was out of the question. I am pretty disappointed that the hotel does not make this first and foremost for clients booking , as I had only booked due to the pool . A duty manager tried to offer a sweetener of a refurnished room (once we had unpacked ) so to be honest was more trouble than it was worth, so decided against it,. Personally I would avoid this hotel if you want to use the spa until refurbishments are completed. The room we had on the 5th floor was small and lacking in drawer space for t shirts, jumpers etc and the only drawer was one was in a corner and could be opened only partially due to the bedside table. For a supposedly 5 star hotel I found it quite uninspiring and disappointing. The bathroom was large but it only had a shower over the bath. When I did get to the spa in a winter coat, rather than dressing gown, I saw that the. Internal spa steps looked dirty, and this is somewhere which clients are expected to be bare footed. Clearly in the refurbishments standards have dropped. On the positive it is well located to be able to walk to the castle and Royal Mile. That is about the only positive. Overall I I would not stay here again, and for the cost I would suggest looking elsewhere to stay.

Wonderful Hotel & Chloe is the star.
Wonderful Hotel. Just returned from a 3 day visit (15th Jan) From the 2 gentlemen at the front of the Hotel entrance who took out suitcases, to the lovely receptionist Chloe who checked us in and spoke to us every morning. We had a fantastic time and the staff really made our visit special (70th birthday) Breakfasts were really good and our room was large with lovely views into Princess St. We both will definitely be returning later this year for some more luxury down time. Thank you all at the Caledonian Hotel for making this a memorable trip..

Amazing stay
Absolutely beautiful building, with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant food and service were amazing and the breakfast set me up for full on days. The views of the castle are breath-taking. Would highly recommend to all.
