About the Hotel
Overlooking one of Edinburgh's prettiest private garden squares, Kimpton Charlotte Square consists of seven interconnecting Georgian townhouses in the heart of the New Town. Our beautifully formed bedrooms and suites are inspired by the golden age of travel and a genuine sense of Scottish hospitality. Sitting proudly in the middle of the hotel is The Garden bar and restaurant, an oasis of calm in the centre of the city. Light and bright during the day for breakfast and lunch, transforming in to a fairy lit hideaway in the evening for cocktails and dinner. Sample our Twilight Tea, a unique take on the classic afternoon tea with a focus on savoury flavours from 12pm to 10pm every day. BABA restaurant is a sumptuous, relaxed journey to the Levant, featuring mezze, charcoal dishes and small plates with bold Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours perfect for sharing. Cocktails take on the adventurous flavours to continue the journey until late in the BABA bar.

Amazing stay with staff going above and beyond to make our stay special!
I have planned to propose to my partner during this special trip to Edinburgh so really wanted to select a special place to stay. We've already visited Edinburgh several times before so we also wanted to try to stay in a different hotel. As we've never stayed at Kimpton, we thought it could be an excellent idea after seeing some really positive reviews online. What really made this stay very special for us is prior to the trip, I was able to liaise closely with Raghda from Guest Relation to make special arrangements for my proposal. We were extremely pleased with the special setup in our room and it definitely will be a trip to remember for our lifetime! Thanks so much to Raghda and everyone else from Kimpton Charlotte Square for making this a truly memorable trip for us! We really look forward to returning in the future :)

The staff make this hotel special.
Booked in for a 3 night stay and on arrival at reception we were greeted by the lovely Ruby who upgraded us to a junior suite. The room was spacious with a lovely view onto the square. Breakfast was perfect with all you’d want and the staff were so welcoming, in fact any staff we had interaction with were immensely friendly. Well done whoever’s doing the hiring as these people make the hotel.

Flawless stay in Edinburgh’s Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel
A flawless stay at this immaculate hotel. Delightful and super helpful staff. Perfect location for first timers to Edinburgh being close to Old Town and Edinburgh Castle, The New Town, Stockbridge and Dean Village. Plush rooms with everything you could possibly need. Baba restaurant and bar served the most delicious Mediterranean inspired dinner and cocktails and fabulous breakfast. Lined every minute of our stay.

Excellent Stay
Stayed for 1 night in January with my wife as a quick break after the festivities of Christmas & New Year. Welcomed very warmly by the reception staff & greeted as an IHG member & all the facilities of the Hotel were explained to us & we were directed to our room. Room was very nice & very clean with water , milk & coffee pots available in the room. We went to the Spa & pool area for a pre dinner swim & the pool was great but limited space / chairs around the pool to sit & relax but understand the Hotel is in a prime city centre location where space is at a premium. The happy hour for guests between 5pm - 6pm was a bonus & we also sampled the best cocktails with an Old Fashioned & Spicy Marguerita - Excellent! Service was fantastic from the lady in the bar who served us ( didn’t catch her name ) but an asset to the Hotel. We ordered room service which was very prompt & the quality of the food & drinks was once again excellent as was the service. We wanted a quiet quality night in a Hotel after Christmas & New Year & the Hotel delivered in every way - Excellent stay!
