Stunning. From Craig and cullum on the door, to reception, to the bar staff, the service in this hotel is the best I’ve ever experienced. Rooms are amazing, we were in 808, decor, facilities, service all absolutely wonderful. Great bars and food, just wonderful. Reception staff were especially friendly too. We will be back. Typical virgin….

The hotel enjoys an excellent location and has a generally very pleasant atmosphere. The rooms are cozy and thoughtfully designed, offering a comfortable stay. The bar on the first floor is particularly stunning, adding to the hotel’s charm. However, breakfast is a major disappointment. The buffet is limited, the service is inefficient, and orders from the kitchen take far too long to arrive. It’s an area that needs significant improvement to match the rest of the hotel’s standards.

Never been to Edinburgh before; staying here just makes me want to go back. Greeted at the door by the most helpful concierge; nothing was too much trouble, checking in was just so easy, and staff everywhere were genuinely happy to see you, we didn't use the hotels valet parking ( too expensive £45 per day) we used a company called Apcoa Parking which was a ten minute walk away £28 for the three days in total book online, good secure parking..Anyway, the room was just great, larger than I thought, the bathroom was integrated with the bedroom, leaving the shower and toilet in separate rooms which were huge. The large super King bed was soft and clean, and for a man that has experienced 70 Christmases with a bad back, it was splendid !! Not going to go on too much about the room as the pictures you see on the Virgin Website are exactly as you will experience. Betsy ( Our Rottie) was spoilt rotten with her own bed and bowls with treats.. Breakfast was wonderful. Betsy enjoyed my bacon and black pudding. Great touch here...Happy Hour every evening 5 pm to 6 pm Drinks free, all drinks Spirits, cocktails and draft beers...Loved that !! Look, it is worth spending a little more to experience this. it's like when you board a plane in economy and they upgrade you to first class...You're ruined for life, nothing else will do..Simples. Lastly, this hotel is smack bang in amongst everything you want to see in the old town Edinburgh, which means you're not too far from a little nap if the sound of bagpipes wear you out...ten out of ten ..

Truly exceptional customer service. I asked for a room with two beds, which they immediately accommodated, even going so far as to move our room at the last minute. Lovely space and excellent location right on the Royal Mile of Edinburgh. The library is gorgeous and the food at Commons Club is the best we ate through our vacation

This is hands-down the nicest hotel I've stayed at! From the porters that meet you at the front door, the clean , comfortable rooms, delicious food, impeccable service, and just the sheer beauty of this hotel. Everything was WONDERFUL!!! Special shout out to Martin up in the front. What a friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, sweet employee! I cannot rate this hotel high enough AND cannot wait to visit again! Cindy M. from California
