The shine came off the penny at Nemacolin
My husband and I have visited Nemacolin many times and always departed looking forward to our next stay. Unfortunately, our last visit was a major disappointment. We traveled with our young grandchildren, ages two and four, very excited for a fun weekend. Our experience this trip left us agreeing that the shine has come off the penny at Nemacolin. Some of the issues we experienced were a room mix up, extremely long wait times for a shuttle with very small children in frigid temperatures, staff giving incorrect information, disappointing experiences, and VERY limited healthy menu selections geared to young children. We also agreed that the Hardy Holiday Village was basically a marketing opportunity for a captive audience. When staying at Nemacolin, you know that the price points are indicative of an exclusive resort, and contribute to the overall experience. However, being charged over 60 dollars for 1 children’s meal consisting of a chicken breast, plain noodles and mushrooms is beyond reasonable. The resort was beautifully decorated, but the service and value at Nemacolin have diminished. We will be looking for a new destination to celebrate the holidays with our family in the future.

Extremely over priced for what we got. My chair AND coffee cup were both filthy, I almost left. I guess that’s what I get for showing up last lol. If that wasn’t bad enough I found a piece of broken glass under the table and crumbs under the table.

Luxury experience
Top notch service all around. Stayed at the Chateau in a suite and wanted for nothing. The club level offers butler service which associates that are friendly and accessible. Loved that you could choose from several types of pillows. The resort offers several restaurants and cuisines. The grounds are meticulously kept and enjoyable to walk. It is evident that the owners have invested heavily in the property to improve and modernize the accommodations. It was a relaxing getaway and hope to return soon!

We loved Nemacolin. My husband and I celebrated our 42nd Wedding Anniversary. We also met friends there and she celebrated her Birthday. The Grand Lodge (where we stayed) was absolutely gorgeous. The entire staff were so nice and professional. The food and drinks were delicious. We also had the Spa/ Wellness package. The Woodlands Spa was awesome! We didn’t want to leave. We will be back! Hopefully sooner then later.

THE BEST
The best hotel/resort experience from the food, the room, the staff. We ate at Fawn and Fable, Gusto, and the Peak. The room was designed and decorated Incredibly well. No detail was skipped. We even took a dip in the outdoor heated pool in November. We look forward to our next trip.
