About the Hotel

A landmark hotel in Scotland’s biggest, most vibrant city. Kimpton Blythswood Square has been a prestigious address since the early 19th century. Overlooking a private garden square, the hotel's Georgian townhouses were originally home to wealthy merchants and were later turned into the club headquarters for The Royal Scottish Automobile Club. Today, the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel has been spruced up for the 21st century, with a multi-million pound refurbishment that has refreshed all of the existing guest rooms and suites with an elegant new look and the launch of the 1,900 sq. feet two-bedroom Penthouse Suite with its own private balcony, media room and dining area. The Hotel also hosts a 10,000 sq. ft. Spa facility with 9 luxury treatment rooms, a thermal suite, 2 relaxation pools, and a lounge and café area.

London prices but Glasgow quality ...

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Disappointed .asked for a champagne cocktail .then stopped the bar tender pouring Prosecco into the cognac . after adding sugar syrup as they had no proper brown sugar cubes ..my husband was then was hit by a £27 bill for it ..please be careful as I feel a bit scammed ... it' should be a normal cocktail for a 5 star hotel to have this on their menu .... this is London savoy prices where the champagne cocktail is £27 ... i have just spoken to f&b manager who has informed me that they take their pricing from Dakota in Glasgow ... just so everyone is aware we have stayed their on numerous occasions . And this is not Dakota Glasgow .. far from it . I was then told it was Scottish licensing laws... I would like to see where that calculation comes from as I live in Scotland ... I would like to know where in Glasgow thinks they are good enough to charge this amount of money for a cocktail .... that is London charges for a similar cocktail I will take this further with a group general manager ... marcello.ventisei ... as I have what appears to be no resolution ... will update

Beautiful hotel and spa

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

What a beautiful hotel, with one of the best spa’s I’ve ever used. Firstly hotel is stunning on every level from minute you walk in door decor, rooms, spa all five star. Our room was total luxury with comfy bed and luxury linen, bathroom was lovely and big with separate bath which I always rate. Mini fridge was well stocked with juices and all complimentary. Coffee machine is always a classy touch. The Spa is stunning with great experiences and just felt super relaxing genuinely one of the best I’ve used on my travels This hotel is a must stay, so why the score of 4/5 the breakfast service really let the hotel down staff were not attentive and very slow to take orders or engage, we had to ask twice for our coffee which they also forgot toast twice which we had to ask for and staff were generally just not up to standard of other IHG / kimpton hotels. The breakfast I must say was 5 star and a credit to the chefs. other than breakfast service I would defo give this 5 star

Couldn’t fault it!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for his 21st birthday and I honestly couldn’t fault the hotel. Staff were all very attentive and professional. Room and spa was gorgeous! Amazing value for everything included and the amenities given. Will 100% be coming back here to stay, thank you for making our occasion special.

Afternoon tea

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Booked afternoon tea for my sister’s birthday, service was appalling, so many staff all seemed to be totally clueless, waited 45 minutes for the afternoon tea to arrive and was very disappointed at what we received. Sandwich were awful, cakes were average the scones were the only decent thing, certainly not worth the money and definitely would not recommend.

5 stars for Chefs and Manager

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

During my visit to Blythswood, the restaurant felt quite chaotic for dinner. It was evident that the manager was the one holding everything together, stepping in to take orders, serve food, and handle customer concerns while others do very little. One waitress in particular blonde hair appeared disengaged, standing around while the manager and a few others worked tirelessly to keep things running. While the manager’s effort was commendable, it was clear she was getting taking advantage of. Apart from this the food was outstanding and attention to detail was good.
