Strengths: The hotel provides high-quality service, with staff members ensuring that guests' needs are met with attentiveness and professionalism. I particularly appreciated the Majordome service, which added a personalized touch to our stay. The executive lounge team was consistently welcoming, always serving with a smile. I also enjoyed the hotel’s effort in curating the lounge library, which featured a diverse selection of books and even board games—each visit offered something new to explore. For breakfast, I preferred dining at the Vietnamese restaurant, where the staff’s warmth created a pleasant experience. Weaknesses: While the hotel carries historical significance, it has been more than a decade since its last renovation, and some facilities show signs of aging. For instance: The pool is relatively small for a hotel of this caliber. The sauna is dimly lit, with a gap in the door allowing cool air to seep in. The bathroom mirror had excess paint on the red mosaic tiles. The hotel’s fly control could be improved, as I noticed flies at the fruit stations of different restaurants during breakfast on two out of three days. Despite these minor shortcomings, the stay was enjoyable, thanks to the reliable service and thoughtfully designed amenities.

A great hotel at a premium price. Excellent service, superb 7th floor breakfasts. Very well located. Just go into it eyes-open that a drink at the bar will cost you a lot more than it will down the street. The complimentary bomb-shelter tour is well worth doing for the informative commentary and to capture the vibe.

Excellent hotel, amenities and extremely helpful staff. A great blend of old and new and full of history. My wife and I consider Sofitel Legend Metropole the best hotel we have stayed in and if we ever go back to Hanoi this will be the hotel we will stay in.

Outstanding hotel, we stayed in 5 star hotels across Cambodia and Vietnam over the course of 3 weeks and Legend Metropole was one of the best, the level of service was outstanding, staff so welcoming and helpful - a special thanks for the private tour of the bunker and hotels fascinating history arranged because we were unable to join the standard time, our room was beautiful and I loved the drawn bath with fresh rose petals - breakfast was elegant and well judged and honestly if and when we return to Hanoi we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. It’s rare the hotel makes a trip to a city but in this case we loved Hanoi but the hotel made our trip extra special - many thanks to the staff who looked after us so well

One of the most outstanding Hotels I have ever had the pleasure to stay. Let me tell you, I am well travelled and have stayed at many 5 star resorts across the globe, and the Sofitel Metropole is up there with the very best. From the moment of arrival, the staff were outstanding . Congratulations to the management team as every single member of staff we encountered were highly enthusiastic to serve. The facilities were just beautiful and the history of the Hotel oozes through every piece of artwork . The Club facilities were incredibly generous and I highly recommend you take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy one of the best I have seen. Please do stay here on your next visits to Hanoi as you will not be disappointed! I would not consider staying at another Hotel when visiting Hanoi .
