The Upper House

Amazing Views, Attentive Staff, Beautiful Rooms, Bathtub overlooking the harbor is divine! The location is perfect, very convenient to get around by Train bus or Uber. The additional personalized touches by the team goes along way, our stay was amazing and would stay here over and over again!

Our expectations were high as we heard so many great things about this hotel. However, the experience did not live up to our expectations. Service was slow and cold. We checked in at 2pm and the staff were not attentive at all. Maybe it was because a peak season with high occupancy but surly they could have done better. The rooms were aged, regardless we have booked one of the studio suite. Peninsula on the other side done a lot better on the upkeep. With this price tag, there are so many options in Hong Kong with better hardware and software.

Dear Upper House Staff. Thank you. I first started visiting you regularly 15 years ago but alas haven’t been back since 2019. However my wife and I have just left after staying with you for the past week. If the Upper House isn’t my favourite hotel that I’ve ever been to anywhere, then it’s definitely in my top three. And in Hong Kong most certainly the best in my opinion (and I have stayed in the 3 other obvious alternatives). The Upper house is different, small, friendly and very cool. The bar and its views are amazing, all the rooms are fantastic, amenities first class, the food is incredible and the service next level. To give you an example my wife and I left at 5:30 am to catch a flight, the staff were waiting by the lift to assist with our bags and even prepared a breakfast to take with us! Many thanks again from both my wife and I, all your staff were fantastic, your House feels like home.

Have been to Hong Kong many times, first time at Upper House, very negative experience. Staff were not attentive and poorly trained. The operation line have no one to pick up the whole morning. At check-in, the staff rather enjoyed talking to each other than help out their guests. Overall, disappointed with the experience, definitely not coming back

The Upper House Hong Kong does not only excel locationwise - Admiralty MTR station with 4 lines virtually connecting it to all parts of the SAR is linked by the luxurious Pacific Place mall and Hong Kong Park only metres away - but also with its exceptional service. Welcome by Janice was extremely warm with lovely preparations for our anniversary, a pre-breakfast, an early check-in and an incredible Suite upgrade, simply due to our third visit. What a generous and heart-felt approach! The view of three perspectives from living-, bath- and bedrooms was simply overwhelming with a marvellous skyline, the sea, and the hills all visible either from the huge sofa, the comfortable bed, or the relaxing bath tub. Even the shower was a delight, and the most generously equipped and refilled complimentary beer and soft drink minibar enhanced the enjoyment even further. The housekeeping did an excellent job at keeping the rooms clean despite a very appealing, but not too cleaning-friendly design that simply breathes luxury. Paul, another very friendly team member who we met for the second time, was always present for a chat and ready to help, even in very stressful situations. The breakfast's products were of very good quality, especially the extraordinarily well-prepared coffee. It is not a typical hotel breakfast, but a lovely à-la-carte solution. Of all three visits, the service was best this time. The view from Salisterra restaurant, where the breakfast happens, is absolutely scenic. A special treat from Paul during our seamless check-out were chocolate and two thermo cups. What a lovely gesture before getting on our complimentary farewell ride! Two small possible improvements for the rooms: A washlet would be a great add-on and Wi-Fi could be a little more stable. The Upper House is not all new, but a well-aging property, and in direct comparison to many high-end properties, which we spent our recent trip at, it clearly stood out as the best. For sure, we will be back!
