With its recent multi-million dollar complete renovation, Las Brisas Ixtapa is a beacon of contemporary luxury on Mexico's shimmering Pacific coast. Bright, inviting, and energetic, the ambiance at Las Brisas Ixtapa carries through from its grand entrance and fountain courtyard, to its beautifully designed guest rooms and suites - each and every one of which boasts breathtaking ocean views. Your accommodations are designed with fresh and modern décor, including brilliant white walls, cool tile flooring, and accents of bold color. Spacious private terraces feature idyllic hammocks, perfect for afternoon naps, or morning coffee while you enjoy the ocean panoramas. Inside, a separate sitting area with comfy sofa, satellite television, mini bar, and pillow-top beds further envelope you in comfort. Resort is built like a pyramid right on the beach with a terraced construction. The building is painted and attractive, terra-cotta color against the tropical foliage. The pool was enjoyable. The food was enjoyable -- overall a very good experience.

We stayed at Las Brisas November 26th to December 3rd and overall it was a most underwhelming stay.. We were located on the 19th. floor which was continually impacted at bedtime with excessive noise from the mezzanine below with boisterous wedding reception celebrations and inconsiderate guests yelling and being disruptive in general. With the very open and cavernous architectural design and being located on the first floor above the main mezzanine walkway of the hotel this considered "excessive noise" requires to be monitored into the late evening and early hours by Hotel security to avoid guest sleep disruption. The allocated guest room together with the incredible scenic views from the balcony were beautiful particularly so in watching the marine life in the ocean but otherwise, the overall facilities were a significant disappointment with insufficient amenities. There was No evening entertainment during our stay, the Lobby Bar was not open until 4:00 p.m. daily and for a "drink or a meal" you had to walk/hike down to the pool area or the beach location. The elevator to the beach area was not working during a few days of our stay and as Seniors to hike down to the beach location via the many stone staircases in the heat, was quite a challenge. Throughout the hotel complex "access and egress to and from locations was "mostly by stairs and more stairs" to get to the restaurants, swimming pools and beach areas. Guests planning a vacation to this hotel particularly if you are Seniors or with any disabilities should be very cautious, as it is a challenging location/complex to get about on a daily basis. Regrettably, our biggest concern with that of many other vacationers to this hotel, when accessing the Restaurant/Bar locations was having to sign for meals or drinks, with staff continuously requesting guest room numbers and even chasing after you to sign and authorize receipts. This staff undertaking has never been experienced before at an All Inclusive Resort location that we have previously visited. Indeed, what a questionable administrative management exercise for not only staff, but also very inconvenient to guests who have purchased an ALL Inclusive Vacation package. Indeed, if guests are not on an ALL Inclusive Plan then there needs to be an administrative accountability improvement by Hotel management staff in the manner that vacationing guest transactions are recorded; such that this undertaking does not impact those that are on an ALL Inclusive Plan to avoid the "ongoing staff pursuit of guests continually requesting meal or drink receipt signatures and disclosure of room #'s" . The Bellavista Buffet restaurant even at "opening times" for both breakfast and dinner would often have cold food in the dispensers. The "omelette station layout" needs to be improved to avoid the daily long line-ups and to improve the overall efficiency of this service. Overall it was a very disappointing stay despite the amazing location and guest room with beach and ocean views and irrespective of these positives, we would definitely not return to the Las Brisas.

The staff were exceptional especially Adolfo Gonzalez and Angel in daily activities. The food wasn’t exceptional and lacked seafood compared to other resorts I’ve stayed at there. The a l carts were limited with choices without an additional fees. Shrimp is in abundance but the resort wants additional money which is unfortunate when a person has paid for an all inclusive. There’s too many stairs and the revelatory was constantly broken. The layout of the resort was odd as well. The snack bar food wasn’t great as I’ve never been to a resort without authentic pizza or at least fish tacos. This resort is not wheel chair friendly or for someone with a disability. The view from the room was amazing along with the private beach but the food for 4.5 star isn’t not.

This is a wonderful hotel and experience depending on what you are looking for. Beautiful private beach with no solicitors. Childrens and adult pools. No crazy music and loudspeakers, quiet if you want it. Rooms are comfy, however, this is no 5 star experience. I would put it at a solid 3, but when we are in Mexico, we just want to relax. Nice buffet breakfast, and easy access via Taxi to Ixtapa or Zijuatenejo. We've been coming every year for abotu 10 years. The service and attentiveness is top notch!

We stayed 3 weeks (Nov/Dec 2024) at Las Brisas Ixtapa with the all inclusive package. The main reasons we booked there was the isolated beach, spectacular views, sunsets, and decent reviews. We really enjoyed our time there but they had, in our opinion, some short comings that we would have loved to have known before hand. We thought the service levels were excellent!! Every interaction with hotel employees was positive. Two areas that stood out from past travels was the over the top service of beach waiters. The best we have experienced. The other one was something I haven't really noticed before - the two lifeguards were absolutely engaged and very proactive. We loved the beach and clarity of the water. The waves were very rough for several days, only to mellow out to normalcy later in the week. The Resort releases baby turtles when they hatch. We had a couple days of dolphins in close proximity to the beach. We enjoyed the whales off in the distance as well. The Resort is older but well maintained and kept exceptionally clean. It should also be noted the pool, lobby, and beach bathrooms were kept meticulously clean. There is a no smoking policy at the Resort and beach.... As the Resort is built into a hill, the lobby and front desk is on the 18th floor. This the "ground level" for entering from vehicles etc. We stayed on the 19th floor and the sound from the lobby was evident - it did not bother us at all. We were part of the noise on occasions I'm sure. If noise from the lobby/or weddings is an issue - ask to say in the far isolated wings of the Resort. Obviously one must be aware of the amount of stairs and walking in the Resort. We knew and had no issue with it. If you don't want to take the stairs - ask to be placed near the elevators. To get to the beach, there is a stairway all the way down. They offer a shuttle to the beach and it is an excellent service! It's of particular importance because the beach elevator (10th floor) was very problematic and was constantly being worked on or broken down. Once at the beach, you can walk the stairway to heaven when the elevator is down (had to several times) it's a true cardiac stress test! There is the shuttle to leave the beach as well. The shuttle will also take you to the lunch/dinner buffet in the main part of the Resort. If the beach elevator is operating, you can walk it fairly comfortably. There is also a beach eatery if you prefer to stay and eat at the beach. The food is fine. Mostly hotdogs, hamburgers and french fries. If I recall correctly, there is the beach eatery, the breakfast/dinner buffet , Lunch buffet is at the pool. Mexican and Italian a la carte and lastly las Brisas 2. Las Brisas 2 is located just up from the beach is an absolute must. Food is good but it's the atmosphere that makes it a must visit!! We thought the food was delicious and very good quality. We had hoped to get more local fare and were disappointed in that regard. I was annoyed to never had been offered guacamole, and rarely salsa. Never saw paella once. Was looking forward to fillets/steaks of calamari - never saw it once. Some shrimp offered at times. The fish was excellent but never got into the next level of seafood I expected for 4 star Resort. I guess we were disappointed with the selection, but otherwise the food was excellent. Las Brisas 2 , buffets, and a la cartes were excellent quality in our opinion. Be aware that "all inclusive" does not cover everything on the a la carte menus. Anything with an Asterix is an extra charge. There is a coffee shop that sells some Starbuck drinks with snacks - none of this is included in the "all inclusive" option. This shop has limited hours as well. There is no 24 hour food service available unless you go through room service and it is all extra fees. We missed dinner one night and the room service small pizza (delicious) was about $16 Canadian plus tip. The small fridge in the room is not stocked. If you want that option it is extra money. From our room it was about 15 min walk to the lunch buffet/pool/bar to get refreshments before the lobby opens at 4pm. This is an absolute annoyance in my opinion. I asked for 6 beer and 6 pop to be added but I wasn't willing to pay extra for it. There was no live music available in the lobby or anywhere on site. Music would have been appreciated. Even with "all inclusive" wristbands, you are asked for your room number constantly/excessively. Every interaction for a drink or meal has to have an order typed up when you order. After you eat or accept your drink, you must settle the "bill" even when you are all inclusive. Obviously you don't pay, but there is a paper transaction for every drink/meal. You can run a drink tab but must settle the bill when you're finished. This was a first to us. If you don't carry money, you can write a tip on these bills and you will have to settle it upon check out. I had a concern that someone would lie about their room number and run up big tips to another room, with no intention of settling it up honestly. I suggested using wrist bands with a 4 digit number on it. This also clears up the odd language issue when offering room numbers to service staff. Be aware that when you check out, your wrist band is effective till 11am or 12pm. If you were to grab lunch before leaving for the airport - expect to pay approx $378 pesos/$26 Canadian each plus drinks. Servers told us that it's programmed into the registers that way. Glad we checked first. Lastly, the airport taxi service is $580 pesos/ $40 Canadian to the Resort. Travelling light, you can walk out of the airport parking lot (approx 1 block) and get taxis substantially cheaper. In summary - we loved our stay there except for a few issues. The meal/drink tabs were grossly ineffective and a waste of time to me. The food selection was underwhelming and the unstocked bar fridge was the deal breaker - we won't be back.
