Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong

Recently stayed a week at the Shangri La with my family including a toddler. The service was above exceptional, the rooms were spacious and clean and it was conveniently located near a train station and shopping centres. The service is the main reason why the shangri la is our top hotel and why we keep coming back. It’s the small details that make them a winner.

Relaxing stay at Shang Kowloon. Lovely service across the hotel. Everyone moves at an efficiency level that is not usually seen in other countries! Shower pressure in room was great! Spacious room, with work table and everything you need.

This place is off the charts! It is absolutely beautiful and so well maintained and appointed. We were upgraded to a suite, and it was fabulous. Everything is so well thought out in this hotel. It has everything you need, and you could actually live in the suite for a couple of months, especially since it comes with a little kitchenette. The beds were comfortable. The seating area was comfortable with a couch and chairs. There’s a smart TV so we could watch netflix, etc. The air-conditioning worked really well. Staff was so friendly and accommodating too. The main bathroom was large and so well laid out. There were tons of hooks and shelves in both bathrooms. The main bathroom even has a nice wide ledge around the bathtub for you to put things on or sit. The shower was good with plenty of hot water and good pressure. There's soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. The hotel is also very well situated, within walking distance to many sites, the subway (metro), as well as the ferry piers over to the island. The metro from the hong kong kowloon train station to the hotel was so easy, and we were practically at the hotel’s main door within 10 minutes. The hotel also has beautiful views of the harbour and the avenue of the stars.

The lousiest hotel I have ever stayed in Hotel. I was given a room without proper housekeeping. please refer to the photos. I am still wondering what was inside the toilet bowel, condom? YUCKS! I was given a box of chocolate as a form of "compensation". Never mind since the supervisor claimed the bedsheets were changed entirely. However, I found spooky to have light flashing when I off all the light to sleep. First and last day was fine, no light flashing. I stayed there for 5 nights. Hopefully, there wasn't any spy camera. This hotel is super weird. No classy feel. You can hear people yelling outside the hotel even you are staying at the high level, e.g: level 15. You can also hear people yelling and shouting. This hotel has influx of chinese national. On my last night, I returned to the room and found out someone has meddled with my luggage and I did something to ensure no one touching it. Someone could have opened it as my packet of supplement was tightly concealed was being opened and not sealed back. Lucky, I don't leave valuables in my room if I am not around. I checked with the reservation team, they claimed no one has entered my room. If not Shangri La these words behind Kowloon , I would say this is just purely Kowloon hotel. Yes, very nice interior design but already suffered wear and tear. I believe it used to be one of the most glamourous hotel in the 80s/ 90s. One of the PRC cleaner was super busybody, I only requested for filling up of water. She kept looking round my room. She was trying to find out what was in my room. This hotel very PRC feel.
