Kyoto is a city where the future and the past co-mingle in a vibrant harmony. As sleek steel structures arise, setting the tone for modern architecture, traditional wooden machiya still line the streets. Kyoto was spared during World War II, and as a result is one of the only places left where traditional Japanese culture and architecture can still be fully explored; Hotel Granvia Kyoto is the perfect place to begin your journey. Incorporated with the customary Asian style is their use of modern furnishings, and an impressively, breath-taking use of futuristic architecture that is part of the Kyoto Station complex. Hotel Granvia offers striking views of Kyotoâ€(TM)s mountainous skyline, and luxury accommodations that combine natural elements with modern conveniences, a full gym as well as fourteen first class restaurants. Designed to meet all of your needs under one beautifully designed roof, Hotel Granvia gives you a private entrance to the wonders of this historic city.

Excellent location, impeccable service. Comfortable, quiet room despite location above breathtaking new rail station. Special thank you to Ms Ayumi Hisamoto, an incredibly knowledgeable and efficient concierge. Made our stay even more special!

Very disappointing. Hotel is in a good location but is very tired looking. For the price I was disappointed. We had 2 superior twin rooms, good size but the bathroom could have done with an upgrade. The whole place showed signs of age, tired carpets, mould/damp on walls in bar. Too much money paid (roughly £200 per night per room) for the standard. This price was not including breakfast.

This was our favorite hotel we stayed at while in Japan. The location can't be beat (although you can hear the trains in the morning starting at 6am, even from the 14th floor). The amenities were amazing, we loved the room! The staff were very helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Extremely convenient location in the train station, my feet were grateful. Front desk are all English-speaking (much appreciated!). Nice room with a great view of Kyoto tower. Laundry service was fine and concierge was helpful in arranging for takkyubin service for my next destination. Nice minibar selection. No complaints, would def stay here again if wanting to explore Kyoto.

The Hotel Granvia had everything. Located in Kyoto Station the convenience for all our day trips was fantastic. There was shopping on site, lots of dining options and entertainment - dancing and light displays in the station auditorium on different nights and we explored all the walkways around the station. The rooms were faultless with sensor night lights, shower/steam room and all the amenities we could have wished for. Very comfortable extra bed.
