Experience a masterpiece of modern architecture on the cliff of the Buergenberg within a fully integrated resort, located 1.800 ft high above Lake Lucerne and yet only 30 min away from the city center of Lucerne. This 140 acre resort including the hotel has been a legend since 1873, due to it fine pioneering heritage (Switzerland's first electric railway, Europe's highest outdoor Elevator) and first and foremost, the link to glamour and celebrity: It was here that, Audrey Hepburn was married, Charlie Chaplin regularly stayed, Sophia Loren and Carlo Ponti made their home and many more celebrities, politicians, etc. returned year on year.

This was our second time visit and it was fantastic again. This team lives hospitality and was super friendly and helpful. Compliments to the management for a well trained and dedicated team! Breakfast was amazing both food and service, especially the lady that welcomed us at the entrance. She was smiling all the time and you can tell that she is passionate about her job. The wine recommendation through the sommelier at the Oak Grill Restaurant was top notch. The Spa as usual breathtaking. Short get away to refill batteries, feels like a mini vacation.

The service was impeccable, from the front reception desk, porters and from the staff in the various restaurants. The view from the room was as amazing as we had expected. The alpine Spa was fantastic, a real treat containing infra red rooms, hammam, jacuzzi, sauna, pool, private treatment rooms etc Breakfast was 'al a cart', somewhat limited and not what I would have expected from one of the top resorts in the world, I would have much preferred a buffet but it's held in the spices restaurant which has amazing views. This also serves excellent Asian cuisine and is worth visiting for this alone. Well worth taking a walk through the museum and learning about the history of the hotel. I can't really say that the price is matching the experience, this is definitely over-priced, there's no doubt about it, so i've knocked one star off because of this although i'd prefer not to. Top tip: Don't go in summer - winter, autumn or spring are great times of the year to visit else there are too many others staying and visiting the hotel at the same time and the experience is not the same. Overall an outstanding hotel, in an excellent location with world class facilities.

We stayed in the hotel over New Year’s Eve with our family, including kids and grandparents. The stay was amazing for everyone. The service overall was impeccable: from the moment you arrive in the hotel you can feel the high level of kindness, politeness and care from the staff. Everything offered in the hotel is top notch: restaurants, spa, rooms… it was definitely one of the best hotels we have ever visited and stayed. Totally worth it!!!

We stayed for 4 nights over the New Year. We stayed in the Palace hotel with interconnecting rooms for the 5 of us meaning we had views over both the mountains and lake. We were fortunate that the fog cleared so that we had spectacular views of the fireworks in Lucerne from our bedroom window. We had a couple of minor niggles at the beginning which were acted on and rectified swiftly. All the staff we encountered delivered a fantastic level of service. A special mention to Mila (apologies if misspelt) from the children’s club. Such a warm and engaging lady who instantly welcomed the children in. We also used the swimming pool, tennis courts, funicular and catamaran during our stay and found them excellent. Overall a great place to welcome in 2025!

Good location but service is equivalent to the one of a 4 star hotel. After staying in AMAN or Four seasons, or Raffles hotels, you truly feel the difference in the quality of the service. Yes the Qataris spent a 550 MM to renovate it, but the service needs to follow.
