The room hallways were dark. The hotel staff was not courteous at all. They were difficult to reach on the phone. The lines to check in and out were insane. Thank goodness for the self help kiosks. But if you needed assistance you were in trouble. The plumbing went out in our room the last night of our stay. The water that came out of the faucets was almost like a black soot. We were told that maintenance turned off the water overnight but they didn't alert the hotel guests about that vital information. So by the morning, we couldn't even take showers or baths because of the state of the water. But they did expect us to check out on time regardless. The hotel fees are nothing short of ridiculous. The coffee shop downstairs is convenient, but the employees/baristas were rude and dismissive. When the floor was being mopped anywhere in the hotel, there was never a "wet floor" warning sign, which was a real hazard. The rooms could have been cleaner. And previous guests most likely left broken furniture, grease spots, and carpet spots that should have been addressed by the cleaners or housekeeping. Hence why we reluctantly felt the need to take photos of the problems within the room so that we weren't blamed for any of it. We wanted to love this place, but sadly that wasn't our experience.

I had a convention and booked through the convention booking service. I was in the Mandalay Bay originally, but upon arrival, it was full, and they moved me to the W. I was excited, as I had stayed at the Delano before this and had a good experience. When arriving in the room, I realized they only gave me 1/2 of a suite. The part with the beds and a wall unit. No chairs, no table, no desk! They were also full and would not open the suite side, nor were they able to move me to a single room with a table, chair, desk, etc. I complained, and at one point, the manager offered to refund my stay if I checked out. I couldn't believe it. They could have just opened the suite side, and I'd have had the chairs. I ended up using the floor as a seat and the small bench in the wall unit as a desk. It was awkward to say the least. Here I was at the "W" hotel and I had to sit on the floor from a lack of a chair! The following day, they were able to find me a chair. That was the only solution. I wasn't happy, but I had no other options. To be fair, they gave me a credit for one night and some food credit. I would have preferred a comfortable room. To make it worse, my colleague arrived a day later and had the same experience (transferred from Mandalay Bay), however, they assigned him a full suite room. Made me think they had it available the day before. The experience was not the premium experience that the W is known for.

We had a very spacious room overlooking the Strip. It had all the amenities and was spotless. The common areas are beautiful and the Mandalay Bay casino is a few steps away. Also enjoyed the vast pool area.

We were very disappointed with our stay. There are no amenities. No complimentary coffee or Keurig cups, no microwave, no coffee cups. The fridge is stocked with overpriced items and there is no room to store cold drinks purchased from a store. The lighting is also poor. Our room was quiet and I had no difficulty sleeping. Best after arrival to ask for an upgrade. For only $10/night extra, we were given a view of the strip at a top floor. Tip - best to get a soft drink or Aquafina from one of the vending machines. Price is only $3 and the soft drinks and bottled water are cold. If purchased at a store, price will be $5-$6.

My wife and I have been to this property dozens of times over the years as our go-to resort. This was our first trip since it became a W hotel and we will not be returning. Just to be clear, absolutely nothing has been changed at this property other than the sign. The rooms, decor, etc are exactly the same. Overall, the hotel is very dated and room quality has gone way down. I paid extra for a corner room, only to get one on the 10th floor. The room had many cracked floor tiles and peeling paint, ceiling, and wallpaper issues. The room no longer had the bluetooth radio clock (no clock at all) and seemed to be stripped of any charm. The floor seemed to have families of 4+ in every adjacent room. We used to come here for the sexiness, charm, and special care they put into the property. The cute quotes and daily updated scents in the lobby were fun and now gone. Overall, you money will go farther elsewhere. Unfortunately, you can't overcome the issues with an aging facility and there's nothing special about the place any longer. Hope this review helps with your decision. We are not going back.
