The Wigwam

Amazing place . great rooms, outstanding service, and great food. plenty of activities for the whole family

I was at the Wigwam for a conference this fall, everything was great from check in to check out. We had a golf tournament, used their conference facility and had events daily on the grounds. All of it was executed well. The food was good. I had several meals at their restaurants and they excellent. Two things that stood out for me. I felt comfortable and relaxed during my entire stay and the staff were all very nice helpful.

The Service in the restaurant wigwam bar was absolutely outstanding top-notch and very customer oriented it was impressive! Also wanted to give a shout out to Beth Schliebe The yoga instructor at the fitness center she was one of the best I’ve ever had! So knowledgeable and her classes were fantastic! She really made me feel welcome!! Overall this was a wonderful experience I would highly recommend the Wigwam!

I will start with the positive part. Grounds a very nice, safe, clean and the steakhouse is terrific. The evening we arrived it was already dark but not late. There was no one attending the valet stand, so we were u sure what to do with the car. Find the lobby, no visible signage in the dark and no entrance lights. Get checked in go back to the car and valet is there. Ask him to park the car and he informs us there is parking in front of our room. Ok no big deal preferable anyway. First time at the Wigwam and it's dark. Valet precedes to tell us our room is around the corner towards the back. We have no idea where we are going and he very reluctant to guide us but eventually did. Get to our room and there is no water or cups to drink tap water. Go back to lobby given two 8 ounces bottles of water and informed the next ones would be $6 a piece. We are here for a conference, the only reason we are staying here. Room cleaning is nonexistent. I only needed them every other day and we were there for a week. Housecleaning did not clean bathrooms, floors and a couple of days did not replace the bath mats. They did take our used towels but never replaced them. Would have to call housekeeping to get new ones. The towels are terrible crunchy, thin and pretty yellow. The toilet paper for a 4 star resort you would think you get two ply, I am not even sure you could call what they put out one ply. It was awful. The housekeeping only gave three rolls of toilet paper for a two bathroom suite and never checked one of the bathrooms at all for the entirety of our stay. The workers that ride around on the golf carts are some of the most obnoxious and rudest people. Not all of them but many. They disregard pedestrians and drive entirely too fast. You have to get out of their way, not the opposite. Kind of think it may just be an Arizona thing as I encountered no yielding to pedestrians in various areas not just the resort. The suite we stayed in was in dire need of just everyday maintenance. The balcony had rotted and broken wood railings and the doors need some tlc. To top off our stay when I received the itemized receipt I noticed a $3 gratuity charge a day for housekeeping. There was no housekeeping. Unless the resort plans to give the money only to the person that brought towels when I called the housekeeping desk. The pool with the slide has a bar, however when going to the bar we could not find the bartender. When he was finally spotted talking with another employee, he explained oh yes the bar is opened, but I am just over here hanging out with a friend. At no time did he walk back over to the bar to see if anyone wanted something. Probably best to train employees on customer service, rather than ignoring that the resort hires incompetent college students. I can not speak about the golf course as I am not a golfer, so I do not know if that is the reason this is labeled a 4-star resort, but my experience and I am not very bougie but have stayed at many 4 and 5 star resorts and this is not one deserving of that title.

I stayed at the Wigwam for a two day work event. The grounds are beautiful, the I stayed in a room which was large, had an amazing patio with a pool view. The bathroom also had both a shower and a tub. Nice! The grounds were beatuiful and very enjoyable to walk and take in the with palm trees and a variety of flowers. The main lobby area had some wonderful cozy spots with fireplaces and the outdoor patio has a great atmosphere with heat lamps when needed. The staff was exceptional - very attentibve and polite. water, towels. etc. A great place to visit!
