We visited the Ritz for drinks on December 16th. The Rivoli Bar was beautiful, the staff very attentive, and the cocktails excellent. The incredibly rude doorman marred our evening. Even though we were properly attired, he looked us up and down and initially refused to let us in, though we had made a reservation. As the first point of contact when entering the hotel, The Ritz should perhaps train their staff to behave more appropriately.

Beautiful surroundings, fantastic service and excellent food. A lovely birthday treat of afternoon tea at Christmas with champagne, well worth the money. A fantastic experience for couples, friends and families. Lovely atmosphere, reminiscent of days gone bye. Well done to The Ritz for maintaining your standards, don’t let them drop or bow to pressure.

Christmas afternoon tea for my husband’s birthday. The whole experience cannot be faulted from the minute we stepped into this iconic London building. The tea itself was superb with special reference to the smoked salmon … like it used to be when it was considered a real treat. Food was plentiful and we couldn’t manage all the cakes. Service also was the perfect blend of attentive and discrete.

We made another Christmas trip to the Ritz and as usual it was outstanding. From the hugely helpful door staff to the lady checking us in and showing us our room; to the concierges and genuinely every member of staff we met, the service was impeccable and everyone was welcoming and friendly. This was our first visit with our son who is two years old and everyone was lovely with him. Plus age appropriate books and DVDs placed in the room, junior towelling robes and slippers, a gift for him and complimentary ice cream - he was delighted as were we. It was also my partner’s birthday and again thoughtful gifts were left in the room. The first class service continued throughout our stay and I can genuinely say every staff member is worth their weight in gold and goes the extra mile. When I took our son down to breakfast I was slightly apprehensive in case he had a toddler moment but again all staff (and guests!) were so friendly and helpful it was an absolute delight. And he was good as gold! I can’t fault anything about the hotel and would recommend it to anyone. You get what you pay for - sheer excellence. Thank you again.

While you expect top-notch service at luxury hotels, you rarely get it these days. The Ritz in London is the exception. They are outstanding. As an example: I like to send a letter or postcard from the historic hotel I’m in to my family, especially if the hotel has old-fashioned hotel mailboxes or mail slots that are still in operation. The concierge desk not only provided some supplies but when I asked for the nearest place where I could buy the needed postage, the concierge GAVE me the stamp from his own wallet. I was able to sit down right then in the fabulous setting, write a note to family and mail it off at that moment. I know it sounds simple but too often those seemingly little things aren’t done any more. But they add up to a five-star experience and a memory my family will keep. Thanks again to the concierge team for their friendliness and above-and-beyond help!
