The Rubens at the Palace is the closest you'll get to a sleepover with the Queen without a state visit invitation. The hotel is directly across from the royal residence on property that enjoys a colorful past – the Duke of Buckingham lived here in the 1600s, followed by an apothecary and a Court dressmaker. The Rubens, which was built in 1912, housed the Polish army during WWII and gave respite to exiled Charles de Gaulle. The hotel's decadent – and often equally colorful – rooms and suites are a comfortable home base in the epicenter of London.

The hotel is lovely, and comfortable. All the staff are very friendly, polite and nothing is too much trouble for them. Raj and the Guest Services team go out of their way to assist with everything, including transport, help with luggage, and answer any query you may have. The New York Bar is relaxing, and all the staff there are very friendly and helpful.

We LOVED our stay at The Rubens! Our room was small but lovely, our afternoon tea and scones were delightful and delicious, and our interactions with the staff were warm and personal. We were always greeted and asked about our day, either upon leaving the hotel in the morning or upon returning. Both my husband and I felt that the head concierge, John Goncalves, has created an exceptionally professional atmosphere with attention to detail. Also, who could resist Jahangir the best doorman we’ve ever encountered. And last, but not least, we appreciated the guest service manager, Sophie Pegler and her knowledge of the area. We couldn’t have had a better experience at a London hotel!

A favorite hotel-This typical European luxury hotel offer charming rooms, albeit some are small, a great bar and wonderful, friendly service. Stayed here for 5 days and needed to change rooms because of my granddaughter joining us and everything was handled as smoothly as I could have wished for. We also needed to change some activities we had booked, and the concierge made it all happen. The doorman was amazing, and everyone was as helpful as they possibly could be. Love this place!

Afternoon tea a must. We had the royal afternoon tea and from start to finish it was outstanding. Food and service terrific. Not cheap but everything was refillable for free eg you could have more sandwiches, cakes, tea etc. As I mentioned it was my mums birthday, she was made a lovely complimentary cake. Thank you so much

From the moment we arrived we felt like royalty! The doorman, front desk clerks and restaurant staff were amazing! Great location across from the royal mews, close to shopping and restaurants. Fantastic breakfast! We didn't get a chance to have afternoon tea there but heard from others that it's great. Would stay here again!

I just returned from an amazing 6 nights at The Rubens. My trip was for business and at the last minute, I had to bring my baby along. This worried me greatly, but thanks to the wonderful staff of the hotel, my week went off without a hitch. The staff couldn't have been any kinder, more helpful, or professional. From the moment we arrived, special attention was paid to the baby and any assistance I needed. There is no doubt that I will be returning to this hotel. It has won a special place in my heart.

Our package at the Rubens at the Palace let my mother and me live like a queen. From the flowers in the room, the beautiful suite, the daily high tea, the staff - everything was a deluxe vacation opportunity. My previous vacations to London pale in comparison to this experience.

I can't say enough about the amazing service at the hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed help. The concierge was wonderful and went out of his way to come check on us and see how our day our was turning out. It made us feel very welcome and almost like family! The room was very comfortable, the food in the bar was great, service was amazing. We'll stay here again!
