The Rubens at the Palace

The star of the stay and the hotels best asset is Jan, the doorman. Very helpful and went above and beyond to assist. The hotel was clean & suited our needs but rooms were noisy. Traffic, slamming doors etc. Lovely bar area. We only had drinks & nibbles.

It was a lovely afternoon tea, the food was incredibly good, and the restaurant staff were outstanding. The restaurant team gave us outstanding service. Not only from the restaurant but also since our arrival, they made us feel very comfortable. Thank you so much, team.

The staff at The Reubens is fantastic. They far exceeded our expectations. From reception to concierge to service at the bar and restaurant they were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The room was comfortable and not lacking in amenities. Make sure you visit The New York Bar and chat with Yatzek and Elliot. You won't be sorry!

Visited this hotel as passing on foot a fancied a drink in the bar before travelling on elsewhere. Super staff, especially the doorman. Very nice richly decorated bar with good service. All of this would entice me back to stay. BTW Cloakroom facilities were immaculate. The only fly in the ointment was the thumping beat of the piped bar music which was quite at variance with the early evening. We might have stayed for another had it not been for this. In ending staff were excellent.

We just got back from an amazing stay at The Rubens at the Palace, and I can’t stop thinking about how perfect it was for our group. We were two families traveling together with four kids and a baby, and from start to finish, the hotel made everything feel easy and extra special. From the second we walked in, the staff treated us like family. The doorman was so sweet and welcoming—our kids felt like little celebrities walking through those doors. At check-in, Joe was incredible. He helped us to our rooms, made sure we had everything we needed, and just made the whole arrival process smooth and stress-free. Giulia was amazing—she really went out of her way to make sure the kids had fun. She set up a special check-in just for them (which they LOVED), helped us find a great babysitter for a night out, and even arranged a fun little pastry experience that made everyone feel fancy. One of the cutest moments was coming back after a long day out and finding milk and cookies waiting for the kids in the room. Such a thoughtful touch—and the kids were so happy! Raj and Andrew were always in the lobby when we needed something. They were super helpful with tips, directions, and even kept the kids entertained while we sorted out plans. It honestly felt like they were just part of our crew. We’re already talking about when we can come back—and now I want to check out more of the Red Carnation Hotels around the world. If they’re anything like The Rubens, we’re in for a treat. If you’re traveling with kids, don’t even think twice—stay here. They make it feel like home, only better.
