Located in the privileged Habsburg district next to The Royal Palace, The Opera House and The Cathedral, Gran Melia Palacio de los Duques is a luxury urban resort offering 160 spacious rooms and 20 luxurious suites behind a magnificent Elizabethan façade. This beautiful hotel, completely inspired on Velazquez’s master pieces is the former Palace of the Dukes of Ega and Villahermosa. In the artistic and cultural heart of Madrid, a short walk from some of the most important monuments in the city, such as the Royal Palace, the Teatro Real and the Almudena Cathedral, behind its magnificent façade the Palacio de los Duques Gran Meliá combines vintage splendour with a delicate contemporary sensibility. More than just a luxury hotel, the Palacio de los Duques Gran Meliá is a canvas that inspired a most extraordinary way of life.

The service is absolutely fantastic at this hotel! This is my second visit in the last two months and the wonderful concierge, Delfina, not only remembered me but remembered our conversations! She and Christina are so professional, detail oriented and helpful. Delfina was training Hector and Marco and they will both be excellent at their jobs as they exude confidence and competence already. Thank you to David the bellman too. He was very helpful transferring our bags to another property. Even the housekeeping staff was polite and helpful!

Très bel hôtel luxueux et très bien situé dans le Madrid historique. Notre concierge José (du Red Level) a répondu efficacement à nos souhaits. Le personnel du petit déjeuner est très dévoué et sympathique. Nous recommandons vivement cet établissement.

Everything was top notch. The breakfast was included, and it was a delicious array of continental breakfast as well as a menu a la carte breakfast. The room was beautiful, little details, like a hair straightener, along with a blow dryer, bath salts for the bathtub and small refreshments, like cakes and cheeses at turn-down Service. The people at the front desk, the concierge, the bellhops and the wait staff at breakfast service, were beyond helpful and friendly. It was walkable to most of the major sites, but there are plenty of taxis available outside and Ubers came quickly as well. It’s on a quiet street away from the hubbub of Madrid, very quaint and pretty near Teatro Real.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We had gone for our 40th wedding anniversary and our sons sent flowers, cava and chocolates to the room and they were all top quality. We couldn’t manage all the cava but the cleaning staff were great at tidying it up and leaving fresh glasses. The concierge and reception staff were extremely helpful and helped us organise our trip to El Escorial. The hotel is expensive but you get a great experience. We would definitley stay there again if we were returning to Madrid.

From the moment you walk through the door here at the Palacio it just has the WOW factor Greeted with a glass of fizz great start The decor is just incrediable Rooms spacious Amazing bed Stunning bathroom and everything you need from hairdryer to umbrella you won’t want for anything But what stood out for us was the exceptional staff at the hotel All very highly trained and always happy and smiling and that goes such a long way as the hospitality industry is tough Julia from main bar area was just so so sweet and Dennis on front door great fun Dennis the menace we called him The weather was awful rain rain rain but it did not ruin our trip the hotel has the best location and we are already planning our next trip
