On the corner of 9th and Hennepin in the heart of Minneapolis’s historic theater district, The Chambers Hotel takes center stage. Built in 1908, The Chambers has had a front-row seat to the legendary Orpheum Theatre’s groundbreaking performances, from the Marx Brothers’ vaudeville act to Prince’s hometown debut. Here at The Chambers, we, too, have a famous flair for the dramatic. Our 60 art-infused guestrooms and suites have walk-in rain showers, deep soaking tubs and sweeping views of vibrant downtown.

The Chambers hotel is a great option if you visit for arts and entertainment. With easy parking next door, it's all walkable to great concerts and restaurants.

The Hennepin suite room was super cool. Great location. We didn't have hot water in the shower (went ice cold after 2-3 mins). The drain for the tub broke off after trying to drain it. No apology or solutions were offered by the front desk during checkout.

Stayed March 14-17 2025. Room was way too hot. 84-86 degrees in room. Hallway was too hot. Typical excuse of not having any mechanical people to fix any problems on the weekend. ???? Staff is friendly and helpful, but has their hands tied on these types of issues. Other issues in the room. Cabinet handles loose or missing screws to secure them, multiple complaints on the same room with the bath tub drain.

Upon check in, we arrived to our room but we're disappointed because at booking we offered an upgrade to a corner room at a few dollars more a night, so I agreed and upgraded. Our room was not a corner room, but at that point it didn't feel like enough to throw a fit- it still seemed like a nice room for the price, and our own time crunch left me not wanting to debate this and be moved when I could be getting ready. When we got to our room our safe was beeping. After multiple attempts to call the front desk from our room phone, I called from my cell phone and was able to get in touch with someone. A house keeper was sent to our room to reprogram the safe, and I was thankful for that. The lighting in the bathroom seemed like a lot, but is terrible for makeup. The sinks drain incredibly slowly and back up quickly. We went to our events, and upon return discovered our interior deadbolt was not functional. Being 2 am, I opted to not bother a skeleton crew and utilized the other lock. A shower was excellent, but one bathrobe for a king bed rental seemed ridiculous. At 4:30 am the safe started beeping constantly again. I tried multiple things but could not get it to stop. At this point I didn't bother asking for more help knowing that a few hours later it would start up again, besides the difficulty calling the front desk from the room phone, because the issue was clearly deeper than plugging a device in to stop it temporarily. I shut the closet doors and tried to cover up the noise for a couple more hours. Around 8 we headed down for the breakfast. The waffle makers were coated in batter and there was spilled batter everywhere. The offerings otherwise were basic. We opted to not even bother based on the food safety and cleanliness issues present. We paid for breakfast elsewhere. At checkout we mentioned the safe and lock - hopefully both were addressed for the next guests, but in general the response felt insincere from staff. Those issues aside, I would normally highly recommend this venue and book here again for our next upcoming visit to the Orpheum - the room was otherwise quiet, the location is great, parking nearby is easy, and the mattress and bedding were perfect. However, it's not worth a night of not sleeping between the safety issues, a poor breakfast offering (which was one reason I opted for this location, the complimentary breakfast), or the failing safe beeping constantly that I would not trust with its obvious failure. To summarize, the value felt good for the location and amenities, but after the fact it felt like a "get what you pay for" scenario, but even more disappointing.
