Reviews for Sofitel Munich Bayerpost

Sofitel Hotel Munich

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Sofitel was an excellent start for 3 nights. Reception is very nice and staff were very helpful. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Very clean and well maintained each day. Health spa was excellent. Again very clean and staff helpful. Many saunas and steam room. Nice and large and clean. Warning that it is a nude sauna area, but many simply wore a towel provided. Nice pool to swim in a well. Bar on ground floor was nice. Drinks a little pricey. Staff were excellent.

Nice hotel, but not nearly 5-star service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

During our two-night getaway, the first day’s room service was acceptable, but the second day fell short, lacking a night turn-down service, an amenity consistently provided by other 5-star hotels I have visited. My wife was looking forward to trying the advertised special bath service, but the staff seemed completely unprepared to deliver it. The room was also inconsistently stocked, requiring us to repeatedly request standard items such as soap refill, coffee and cups. Overall, the service barely reached a 3-star hotel level.

Nice hotel service sucks!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Hotel is nice but service is terrible. My phone in my room was broken. I asked them three times to fix it because I needed a 4:30 am wake up call. Never did it. Had to have a guy knock on my door to make sure I was up. Asked them to attach my all platinum account number to my reservation. They could t figure it out. Actually asked them anything and “nein” seemed to be the only word they knew. And don’t order the bread in the restaurant. Of course the waiter didn’t tell us but the bread is 16 euros and a bottle of water is 12.50 euros. Won’t be staying here again.

Service and housekeeping poor

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Currently staying at the Sofitel Bayerpost, our 3rd night. While the location is good the service is really poor and does not live up to being a five star hotel with prices to match. The housekeeping service is very poor. All of our towels bar one were removed on the 2nd day but not replaced. Leaving my husband and I with one towel in the morning. Unfortunately we had not noticed at the time. We returned to the hotel this evening after a long day out to find that housekeeping had not cleaned our room or refreshed towels. On complaining to the front desk as by that time , (17:15) the duty manager had already left, the assistant front desk manager while apologising asked us if when checking in we had been told about their turn down service. We had not been told. Apparently their turn down service means daily housekeeping. Which for eco reasons is only carried out every few days. Totally bizarre. In my mind turn down service is turning your bed down at night and dimming the lights NOT daily housekeeping. The breakfast food itself is good if pricey but the service is not poor and in complaining to the breakfast manager he admitted that it was difficult to train staff as they use agency staff.

Disappointing hotel. The spa is bad. Expensive.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

It's definitely not the best choice in Munich. It's more expensive than the other hotels, but in reality, you don't get anything special. The spa area is very strange. I wouldn't call It a pool. It's something weird shape like narrow, very dark with cold water passage. I don't even know how to describe this disaster. If you are looking for a hotel with a spa to relax, it's not the right choice. Breakfast is expensive so we didn't opt for it. The surrounding area is not nice either. I would never come again. Not worth the money we spent.
