Grand Hyatt Baha Mar

Won’t Be Returning To The Baha Mar We’ve been to the Bahamas countless times, have stayed at the Atlantis, the Rosewood and the Grand Hyatt several times. I don’t think I’ll be coming back to the Grand Hyatt. We were given a room in the West tower. The music coming from the SLS, specifically the Sky Bar is mind numbing. You can’t sit out on your deck without hip hop and rap music being blasted until well after midnight. Why would anyone want to pay these prices, especially for an oceanfront room, and have to deal with not being able to use the deck for hours at a time. The music is so loud you can’t possibly carry on a conversation with the person sitting next to you. Most of the restaurants serve very good food, though extremely expensive. The Island Essentials stores are expensive as well, $61.00 for a couple of cans of coke, a bag of chips and a can of peanuts. Two alcoholic beverages at the bar will cost you $40.00. There’s a 15% service charge and TWO VAT taxes added to EVERYTHING. The casino at the HYATT use to be great, lots of options. They have reduced it to less than half its’ original size to build a new jazz club. The "beach vendors" selling shells, jewelry, excursions, etc. are literally NON-STOP all day long. In terms of service, many of the employees are pleasant, but there are just as many who aren’t, regardless of how much you tip. As a guest you don’t feel welcome, they make you feel like you’re an “imposition”, a bother, a nuisance. I’ve been a huge fan of the Baha Mar since it opened. Not anymore. The icing on the cake was the trip from the Baha Mar back to the airport. The taxi charged us $11.00 for our two suitcases to ride along with us, along with the fare of course, which he also overcharged us per the hotel's posting they have listed on the outside of their hotel as to what cab rides should cost. Five out of the six rides we took in cabs during our stay overcharged us, though the driver who charged us for our bags takes the cake.

The facilites are wonderful, the áreas are very beautiful the rooms are clean and nice but the service in all the hotel is Bad. Especially the restauran GINKO KOSHER the service is terrible!! The good is not so bad is good except the Fish was very bad.The people very rude and not kind, we went 3 times to take dinner and the last night we did not go because of the bad service! Also the people that Works in the CASINO very rude and bad.

This was an excellent experience for my business trip. There probably could have been more in-dining dinner options and casual restaurant options to choose from in the evening. Still a wonderful experience and looking forward to returning in the future!

Everything at this resort is perfect. Pools, beaches, restaurants, casino were all terrific and staff was friendly and attentive.

I was injured on my arm and back due to a metal device on the door not being attached properly. I showed this to front desk upon check with pictures of my injury along with the door. They thought I was probably just trying to get a discount. My concern was the expensive shirt that got ripped but they stated they could not cover the entire cost of the shirt and didn’t seem to care about the 2 cuts I had.
