The former residence of the Swedish Royal Family, Chateau Eza is an enchanting 14th century hotel set in the thousand-year-old French medieval village of Eze. Perched 1,300 feet above the Mediterranean Sea, this exquisite ten-room member of Lifestyle Hotels & Resorts opened its doors again in April 2004 following an extensive renovation by the Stein Group, which has added up-to-the-moment amenities without sacrificing the hotel's medieval charms. Most rooms feature stone fireplaces and private balconies with breathtaking views of the Cote d'Azur, while the Gastronomic Restaurant boasts some of the most panoramic dining in the region.

Very friendly, helpful staff. The restaurant was closed for dinner, but breakfast overlooking the view was delightful. The room and bathroom were spacious. There is a short walk up stairs and a hill to get to the hotel from where you park your car, but it's a great launching point for exploring the narrow, windy cobbled streets of the village.

Restaurant for dinner overrated. The dinner was more a work of art than concentrating on food and very expensive. The room’s decor is in need of an update.

We stayed here to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We truly enjoyed it, what a location and atmosphere.

We arrived at the chateau for a honeymoon stay and were very excited. We have two things to note one of them is about the general location of Eze And the other about the hotel. I never write reviews especially bad ones, However, I think other travelers need to understand What to expect or could happen. The hotel: Staff: the hotel staff is amazing. The valets are great and work very hard. Superstars! The welcome drink is a nice touch and everyone seemed friendly and treated us very nice. Food: food options are very limited at the hotel. They only have an over priced small bar menu or a Michelin star restaurant that requires reservations and is very expensive. They do not have a bistro or any casual dining options. The in-room Dining options are extremely limited and overpriced as well, they offer you 3 basic quality mediocre food for the menu. The breakfast is fantastic though and well worth it. We originally had a reservation at the Michelin star restaurant, but met another couple who were also on their honeymoon who told us it was a waste of money so we actually canceled. Rooms: this is where our stay turned really bad. We had a upgraded room “ Deluxe” With a fireplace. The room itself was a decent size however, half of it was our bathroom. The Jacuzzi tub kept blinking and saying that it needed to be cleaned for sanitation purposes. decor is OK and the beds were comfortable enough — However, our room had the most pungent smell that really negatively impacted our trip And our health. We were only there two nights and could not sleep because it was so strong. It was a mixture of mold and smoke soot and dust/must. We used our fireplace one time to try to cover up the smell, and it only made it worse. I believe there was a ventilation issue with the chimney that ultimately made us feel like we could not breathe and had sore throats After leaving. General location: This is something else to know and has nothing to do with the hotel. Eze Is a very tourist area. Based upon what we had seen online, we thought it was going to be more of a quaint, medieval village however it is more like Disneyland only set up for Tourists. They Only have a few other restaurants in the village outside of the Michelin star hotel restaurant, and the food is mediocre at best. All of the shopping stores are silly souvenir shops without anything of real value Or Art galleries all selling the same type of art. There is really nothing more to this village.

An overall exceptional experience from start to finish . Spent a lot of money, but all well worth it and crossed off my bucket list.
