The Bellevue Hotel

This is going to sound odd as I feel compelled to write a review about a hotel I have not yet stayed in - but will as soon as I can - yet had the most positive experience with. It goes thus - I was scheduled to stay at the Bellevue for five nights recently on a business trip, which was canceled at the last minute. I had taken the liberty of having some ceramics shipped there (I live in Denmark and the American ceramicist would not ship here, so I took advantage of the situation), and once I found that my trip had been canceled and the ceramics had actually arrived at the hotel, went into a mild panic. Not being able to track them down, I had written the whole thing off in my head until I decided to look for the name of the hotel manager, Reginald Archambault, and called him. He answered on the first ring, took immediate control of the situation, went personally and found the ceramics, emailed me and then UPS'd them here to Denmark, all done with zero drama. We never give these kind of quiet, capable people enough gratitude, and so this is mine. I am staying there in January when I can next be in Philly, and they have a loyal customer in one that has yet to cross their threshold.

We first arrived to the Bellevue, it had scaffolding outside and we thought inside would have construction and such. We were pleasantly surprised that the lobby was fantastic! The rooms were equally great. All in all, a very pleasant and nice experience!

BEWARE of THE BELLLEVUE PA Hello- Please beware of the The Bellevue in PA. Hotel is amazing if you like historical properties. (Truly not my niche) but was upgraded to a suite and breakfast was decent. PARKING =DISASTER Valet parking is comped on FNA or points but if you self park there is a fee and it will not be comped. I stayed at the property only because I had a FNA and to check off a property. Unfortunately, Valet crashed my Porsche into a wall….

Watch out double payments when valet parking. Do not recommend to pay through valet appl. Let it charge through the room. And make sure to have final bill printed out when checking out. They charged a deposit which they claimed it was a mistake, and I am having a hard time getting the money refunded to my credit card.

Really nice property overall in a good Center City location, and a great value on a free night award for sure. The recent renovations are impressive and the rooms were well-appointed. I did not have a chance to use the fitness center but apparently, it is state of the art. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and theatres etc. The staff was professional.
