Wander through the narrow streets, where culture and history burst out from every corner. This charming five-star hotel features an exquisite design and is surrounded by Mediterranean gardens with stunning panoramic views of Rome and a relaxing atmosphere. Villa Agrippina Gran Meliá, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, is an exclusive indulgence retreat just a stone's throw from the Eternal City's main artistic gems, being the closest hotel to the Vatican and the Sistine chapel. For a luxury resort this was completely disappointing. The first night we stayed here the power went out on our floor for 3 hours at night time in which we were not unable to use the wifi for work. In turn, we waited up until 12:30 at night and then had hours of work to do with a 6am start time the next day. This was extremely disruptive to our sleep. We also asked for a few pieces our clothes to be express washed and in which they never were and were seemingly lost. After walking about the city for 10+ miles during a rainy day, we wanted to use the hot tub and the spa wanted to charge us €30 for 30 minutes. For €700+ a night, really? Will not be coming back to a place that nickel and dimes you for €700+ a night, honestly surprised they didn’t make you pay a €1 every time you used the bathroom. We brought up these points to customer service to see if they would offer some sort of price reduction and they did not care at all. Again, for a €700+ a night accommodation? Not ok, do better.

Just the perfect balance of everything. The service was spot on, the facilities in particular the pool and the breakfast spread was great. Marco the Maitre D'Hotel was a pleasure to engage with each morning and couldn't do enough for us. So good to have such a lovely facility to retire to after spending time exploring Roma.

Myself and My wife actually came to Rome n 2013 and stayed at the Villa Agrippina .(and in fact it was on this visit we became engaged ) so this place has always held a special place in our memories Upon returning to Rome again in Sept 2024 (for our 10 Year Wedding Anniversary) ..we decided to give it another try and stay once again...and it still absolutely delivers the goods on setting, location, service, luxury, rooms, pool. gardens food, wine, everything ...a very special hotel in Rome cannot wait to come back to Rome again ..and visit once more :-) we will definitely come again

What can I say, everything about this hotel is just perfection. It really is an oasis to come back to after being in the heart of the city. The staff & service - top notch & the staff are a huge credit to the hotel. From liaising with the concierge before our stay to arrange transfers through to checkout, everything was smooth & seamless. Facilities - the breakfast buffet & a la carte options are extensive, fantastic coffee!, fabulous lunch options during the day in the outdoor area & the pool area was also fantastic. The pool is a great asset to have during the summer months. Rooms - we stayed in a supreme room with a view of the gardens (room 601). A large room with seating area, large walk-in shower. Great air-con. The windows are also large & open fully. Robes & slippers are provided, as well as an umbrella. Nespresso machine & array of teas plus a bottle of water also provided every day. A bottle of wine & fruit platter was also waiting for us on arrival. Location - on previous visits we have stayed in the centre of the city however, this hotel is well worth the extra walk to be able to stay in such a peaceful location, especially during the summer when you can return & use the pool. The hotel is next to the Vatican & a 5 min walk from the Castel Sant'Angelo. Just a 10 min walk & you are across the bridge & into the city. There is a small climb from the river up to the hotel but it's not very long. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.

The hotel was perfect for visiting Rome at the height of summer with the beautiful pool and wonderfully cool and comfortable rooms to retreat from the heat to. The staff were truly amazing, welcoming and attentive but not intrusive, and very family friendly.

The best hotel in Rome. Congratulations to the management of the Gran Melia Rome for an extremely well-organized hotel.
