Stayed here for our anniversary as we had stayed several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Sadly that experience was not repeated as things seem to have gone down hill. As with numerous reviews breakfasts used to be the highlight of our stay and now receive many negative reviews so you would think that they would have addressed these comments. Dried out sausages bacon and although the plates were in a warmer they were piled too high to be heated. As for dinner there is now no fine dining restaurant only La Cucina Italian and the clubhouse. We opted for La Cucina and for £30 I received a bowl of pasta with a watered down sauce with a dried out chicken breast on top, would have had a better meal in Pizza Express. We were upgraded to a sea view room which was lovely apart from the fact that the shower gel was empty and a ridge along the carpet which was overdue replacement. To crown it all there were two dogs left unattended in the room next door that barked constantly. Sorry until the reviews start to consistently improve we will not be back.

Just back from a long Easter weekend break with my teenage daughter. We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing break. Edward checked us in smoothly and was very helpful and is a credit to your reception staff. The room was spacious with a gorgeous bathroom and all the amenities you could need, bed was comfortable and there was a lovely view of a golf course. Also the room was very quiet considering there were a lot of families staying for the weekend. The breakfasts we had were amazing and there was a great choice to be had and all the staff at breakfast worked hard to bring out teas/coffees and clear tables promptly with smiles. The pool was lovely and the gym, for a hotel, was surprisingly big with lots of machines. We enjoyed the coastal walks into StAndrews daily and seeing the highland cows! We never actually had a meal in the hotel as we ate out in St.Andrews. Yes - there was a fire alarm early one morning but sometimes these things happen. All the staff we came across were very pleasant. We look forward to coming back soon.

Booked in to the Fairmont for a bit of luxury and let my wife see around the East Neuk of Fife and where I spent my childhood holidays in Crail. Very disappointing, Staff were all lovely but the food was below par (excuse the pun). The room was clean but handles missing on some of the furniture. Seat and stool in the corner of the room had (let’s just say) dubious stains on the stool so maybe the room wasn’t clean!! Fire alarm went off early in the morning which was fine, it happens but it obviously wasn’t the sausages that were burning for breakfast as they tasted microwaved in the morning. Food wasn’t great in the Zephur bar either the previous night. Oh and my latte at breakfast was cold. Sounds nitpicking but honestly stayed in Premier Inns that were better. Just not value for money at all. Let me just say again though that all of the staff were lovely and very professional. I won’t be back though

Avoid at all costs, after booking our stay for our engagement weekend, I cannot say everything went to plan at this hotel. The customer service shown by the assistant front office manager Coleen and General manager Kai Winkler has been appalling at best. After my partner taking unwell during the stay with us having to cut the stay with hotel short, I am yet to receive a partial refund for the unused night with now my email communications to both Coleen and Kai going unanswered. The third party booking site has also confirmed to myself that the Fairmont staff have now stopped responding to their chase enquiry’s also. For the amount of expense outlaid for this stay you are better off elsewhere within the St Andrews area. Late room check in, having to chase staff for pre planned surprises for my fiancée to be and miscommunication on the staff tried to charge myself twice for the stay. Shame on your staff for ruining what was supposed to be a special weekend and continuing to cause stress even afterward of the stay.

Our visit to St. Andrew’s was superb! Simply fabulous location and the perfect place to unwind with family and friends. Our deluxe sea view suite was positioned to take in the breathtaking sunrise views stretching from the course to the town of St. Andrew’s. All the staff were friendly, kind, thoughtful and anticipated all our family’s needs. The activities for children during the Easter holidays provided a great shape to the day, the F&B options were excellent and the concierge team were wonderful with advising bookings, excursions and suggestions to ensure we made the most of our time in Scotland. We’d especially like to mention Dylan at the Zephyr Sports Bar/Clubhouse Bar and Grill, as well as Jamie and Patrick at the Concierge Desk, the kind staff at breakfast every morning, and Harri, who is the most lovely person we’ve been welcomed by in any of hotel stays!
