The dignified, turreted Rufflet's Country House Hotel is one of the oldest established country manor hotels in Scotland. This member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World is set in 10 acres of award-winning gardens just a mile west of St. Andrews and has been awarded 5 Stars by the Scottish Tourist Board. The main house and two separate lodges offer exquisite guestrooms and suites, all furnished with a tasteful blend of contemporary and antique styles. Fresh local produce and prime Scottish beef highlight fine dining at the Garden Restaurant, recipient of a much-coveted two AA Rosettes.

If you can’t get something you want in town, look at Rufflets just outside. You won’t be disappointed.

We visited Rufflets for Sunday lunch and an overnight stay so that we could relax and enjoy it. The amenities were perfect, the lunch was excellent, and so was breakfast the next day. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

excellent food. Service was maybe a little slow but we weren't in any hurry. The staff were very attentive

We stayed the night as we were attending a funeral. With that said, the Service was outstanding, the room was beautiful and clean, well stocked. A good working tv with various channels, tea and coffee, more than other hotels I have visited. We had dinner in the restaurant, one of the best dinners I have had in a long time, a chef myself - the pigeon was cooked loverly, its what I expected with the not over powering smokey flavour. The venison was to die for. plenty of hidden gems within the dish, it packed a punch, lovely char and cooked to perfection. My mother enjoyed the lobster and Halibut, the halibut was melt in your mouth. Well done to the chefs. The front of house staff were professional, what I'd expect from a hotel like The Rufflets Hotel.

Great location outside St Andrews gardens are well maintained and a feature in summer. The food was excellent and a feature of our stay. I would recommend the venison. The hotel was quiet out of season which suited us and the staff were very friendly. Our bedroom we very good with an excellent bathroom and comfy bed.
